It comprises around 200 dedicated employees responsible for a range of functions, including Strategic Policy and Legislation, the Justice Reform Office, the First Nations Justice Office, Regulatory Policy, Secretariats support, and oversight of Special Projects and Statutory Reviews. The Strategic Policy and Legislation Branch has approximately 60 employees, with four civil law teams and two criminal law teams.About the Role and YouReporting to the Assistant Director-General in the Strategic Policy and Legislation Branch, you will lead a skilled team of staff to deliver a significant justice policy and legislation agenda. The Executive Director is also responsible for leading engagement and negotiation with central agencies and across statutory offices, to enable the collaborative delivery of Justice Portfolio's policy priorities. Additionally, the Executive Director will engage with key internal and external stakeholders, monitor trends and developments with sophisticated analysis of data and provide strategic oversight, direction and leadership in the pursuit of creating a stronger justice system.You will possess exceptional leadership capabilities and a proven record of leadership success in large and complex environments. You will possess extensive experience in leading the development, implementation and monitoring of strategic policy and legislation. You will display a high level of autonomy, delegation and agility in adapting environments, with a comprehensive understanding of navigating complex public administration policies and systems. You will demonstrate experience in navigating and managing highly complex stakeholder relationships as well as working with stakeholders to enhance outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Queenslanders.
