We exist so people can live a life free from family violence and have access to safe, sustainable and affordable housing. Our vision is to be the major provider of social housing services and leading-edge client support programs in the Southern Melbourne Metropolitan region.

We deliver funded services and programs across the south east of Melbourne including the local government areas of Greater Dandenong, Frankston, Casey and Cardinia.

About the role

Services for Young People provide transitional support and access to crisis and supported accommodation options for young people aged between 16 and 25 who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness. The service aims to increase the capacity of young people to live independently through: improving access to long term stable and affordable housing; providing assistance with securing income support and connecting young people with a range of social supports.

Reporting to the Senior Manager Homelessness Sup port Services, the Manager Services for Young People leads the delivery of all services for young people at wayss.

Duties include:

The leadership and management of all service staff and team performance Ensure client services are delivered using an Advantaged Thinking approach Management of resource allocation to Services for Young People Implementation of organisational policy, standards and procedures; Ongoing liaison and consultation with internal and external stakeholders relevant to the delivery of services for young people; Management of the program including budgets, risk and compliance Driving a focus on service quality, best practice and client outcomes. Expert program knowledge contribution to strategic and operational objectives Other reasonable duties as requested About you

We are looking for a passionate, client-focused individual who can work independently and can demonstrate an ability to support young people to reach their potential.

You will have:

Appropriate tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Social or Behavioural Science, Psychology or other relevant discipline at degree level or above. Relevant qualifications in management and leadership are desirable. Relevant experience leading the delivery of services for young people where targets are met and risks are managed. Demonstrated experience in leading teams to achieve high performance and working from an Advantaged Thinking approach. Comprehensive knowledge of the service system for young people and of relevant government policy reforms and initiatives. Demonstrated experience in building positive relationships with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders that contribute to organizational objectives. Demonstrated ability to work autonomously under limited direction. Demonstrated ability to initiate and contribute to improving service delivery and practice that support better outcomes for young people. Excellent written and verbal presentation skills. The candidate will need to have successfully completed wayss pre-employment screening and a police check.
