12 month contract + 12 month extension Canberra based role with WFH flexibility available Must be Australian Citizen with the ability to obtain Baseline clearance About the role: The Senior Applications Developer is responsible for developing and maintaining code for a Federal Government Department's Case Management Systems, ensuring alignment with established standards. You'll collaborate closely with business users to understand requirements and deliver fit-for-purpose reports and products. Key Responsibilities: Design, implement, manage, and support high-performance Oracle Application Development Framework and PL/SQL applications on Linux platforms. Actively participate in Scrum ceremonies, events, and artifacts to foster a culture of excellence and agility within the organisation. Contribute to the full Software Lifecycle, from requirements elicitation to post-production support, ensuring high-quality, high-satisfaction product delivery. Drive sustainable development practices, including domain-driven design, test-driven development, maintainable code, and adherence to technical conventions and standards. Facilitate knowledge transfer mechanisms to colleagues and managers, ensuring continuity and expertise within the team. Essential Criteria: Strong experience in architecting, implementing, and managing high-performance Oracle Application Development Framework (ADF) and PL/SQL applications on Linux platforms. Proficiency in Java, Oracle PL/SQL and SQL, an IDE like JDeveloper, and source control tools such as GitHub. Desirable Criteria: Experience with continuous integration tools like Jenkins, SQL database tools like SQL Developer or Toad, and story, bug tracking, and documentation tools such as JIRA and Confluence. Familiarity with Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) and Web Services - SOAP/REST.
