Senior Business Intelligence Analyst

Davidson Technology have teamed up with one of our favourite Local Councils to help them find their newest team member in the Digital and Technology team! Join this vibrant and growing team as a Senior Business Intelligence Analyst and assist an amazing organisation make a real impact to their supported communities. Some major projects in the pipeline, this will not just be BAU (but of course there will be some) Applicants must have Australian/ New Zealand Citizenship or be a Permanent Resident to be applicable for this opportunity. Hybrid work set up, 3 days off and 2 days at home, Central Melbourne location. About the Role The Senior BI Analyst, will work with the Digital and Technology Team and internal customers to turn data into information, business insights and knowledge that can be used to drive operational and strategic decision making. You will build an understanding of the organisational Information products at a level that enables them to inform business process improvements and address critical issues. You will provide data that is accurate, reliable and information that is available to users for direct consumption and integration with other systems. The BI Analyst will have the ability to educate and train internal customers to use data as analytical tools, displaying information in new forms and content for the purpose of analysis and exploration of various options. This role will encompass not only the presentation and development of data insights, but also the ETL processes as well, you will have a hand in sourcing the data, transforming it and extracting it to actionable insights. What we are looking for: First and foremost, someone with a real passion for the data world - this opportunity will have career growth opportunities. Someone with demonstrated experience in data analysis, statistics, reporting theory and practice including an understanding of various analysis methodologies with experience using statistical packages for analysing datasets (Excel, SPSS, SAS, R or Python etc.). Skills with reporting and dashboarding in Power BI and Data modelling in Power Query and DAX. Strong knowledge of and experience with reporting packages (Power BI etc.), databases (SQL etc.), programming (XML, JavaScript, R Python, or ETL frameworks), database design. Knowledge of Azure cloud, Azure ETL, etc. Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyse, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy. Highly developed oral and written communication skills and an ability to liaise effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
