ISB has research strengths across Biomedical Imaging Technologies and Engineering; Biomedical Engineering applications in neuropathology, rehabilitation and neuroscience; Optics and Photonics; Electromagnetics; Signals Processing and Engineering applied Artificial Intelligence.We are seeking a Lecturer (Level B) or Senior Lecturer (Level C) in Biomedical Engineering to further grow our strengths in this area.We are particularly seeking applicants with a research interest and growing research track-record in one or more of the following research areas:Biomedical engineering applications in basic neurosciences, neuropathology or rehabilitation.Biomedical imaging technologies and engineering.Biomedical image processing.Bio-photonics or bio-electromagnetics.Biomedical engineering application informed artificial intelligence and signals processing.Biomedical instrumentation, and in particular: quantum bio-sensors; novel sensor systems or wearable electronics with applications in neurosciences, neuropathology or rehabilitation.It is also expected that the successful applicant would have the demonstrated capability and willingness to teach into one or more of the following teaching areas within the school:Introductory programmingIntermediate systems programmingEmbedded and digital systems at the introductory, intermediate or advanced undergraduate levelEngineering individual capstone projects, research methods and engineering professional practice at the senior undergraduate and/or postgraduate levelsElectrical engineering team projects and engineering professional practice at the introductory or intermediate undergraduate levelIn addition, applicants are expected to be able to teach courses in the advanced biomedical engineering or electrical engineering curriculum aligned with their area of research expertise.Key responsibilities will include: TeachingResearch Supervision and Researcher DevelopmentCitizenship and Service This is a teaching & research position. Further information can be found by viewing UQ's .This is a full-time (100%), continuing position at Academic Level B or C.The full-time equivalent base salary at Level B will be in the range $108,201.26 - $128,201.75, plus a generous super allowance of up to 17%. The total FTE package will be up to $126,595.47 - $149,996.05 annually.The full-time equivalent base salary at Level C will be in the range $132,201.83 - $152,202.33, plus a generous super allowance of up to 17%. The total FTE package will be up to $154,676.15- $178,076.72 annually.As these roles are covered by an Enterprise Agreement, you will also receive regular remuneration increases in line with the Enterprise Agreement.The greater of joining the UQ community are broad: from being part of a university, to recognition of prior service with other Australian universities, up to 26 weeks of paid parental leave, 17.5% annual leave loading, flexible working arrangements including hybrid on site/WFH options and flexible start/finish times, and genuine career progression opportunities via the academic promotions process.About You Academic Level B: Completion of a PhD in biomedical engineering or in a related field with research experience in biomedical engineering.A growing research profile in biomedical engineering in one or more of the specific areas outlined above.A developing national reputation and track record of publications in reputed refereed journals and presenting at conferences.Evidence of contributions towards seeking, obtaining, and managing external research funding.Evidence of a high level of quality teaching at undergraduate, honours, or postgraduate level, ideally with experience in both biomedical engineering and broader electrical engineering curriculum area; with capability and willingness to teach courses in one of more of the areas outlined above.Experience in course coordination and contribution to the development and continuous innovation of new programs, curriculum design and course material in the discipline area.A growing record of supervision of Honours and Research Higher Degree students to successful completion.Experience in meaningful internal service roles in conjunction with active contributions to external activities.Academic Level C:Completion of a PhD in biomedical engineering or in a related field with experience in biomedical engineering.An established national research profile in biomedical engineering in one or more of the specific areas outlined above.An established national reputation and track record of publications in high-quality refereed journals and international conferences.Evidence of successfully seeking, obtaining, and managing external research funding.Evidence of a high level of quality teaching at undergraduate, honours, and postgraduate level, ideally with experience in both biomedical engineering and broader electrical engineering curriculum areas; and capability and willingness to teach courses in one of more of the areas outlined above.Experience in course coordination and leadership in the development and continuous innovation of new programs, curriculum design and course material in the discipline area.An established track record of supervision of Honours and Research Higher Degree students to successful completion.Demonstrated leadership and strong contributions in internal and external service roles.In addition, the following mandatory requirements apply:Work Rights: Visa sponsorship may be available for this appointment. Background Checks: All final applicants for this position may be asked to consent to a criminal record check.
