With knowledge and experience we encourage you to make a difference!About the OpportunityThe National Environment team is seeking an experienced, energetic and pro-active Technical Environmental Advisor who is ready to join the team.A varied range of work will enable you to become familiar with different aspects of the Australian operations. Based in Scoresby and reporting to the National Environment Manager, you will be accountable for providing technical support to the manufacturing sites nationally. The role requires a strategic and risk based approach with primary responsibilities including technical support, implementing and maintaining environmental standards and compliance programs, establishing, fostering and managing environmental regulatory engagement.As a key member of the National Environment team you will be responsible for:Providing technical support for Waste Water Treatment Plants nationallyDevelop technical environmental training materialsDeveloping strong relationships with key stakeholders in order to influence business and functional decisions regarding the reduction of environmental footprintManage key environmental, energy and other key sustainability data collection in preparation for annual regulatory and corporate reporting requirementsAssist with the preparation of annual environmental related Capex strategy, work with sites to identify and assist with environmental related projectsAssist with development and implementation of Environmental Management System to ensure consistency with corporate requirementsDrive a risk based approach to environmental compliance, completing regular site risk assessments and maintaining the group risk registerSupport sites in the identification and escalation of environmental riskSite environmental licence annual reporting to state and territory environmental regulatorsDrive waste management initiatives and assist with waste contractor auditsTechnical support to sites in response to any environmental incidents including root cause analysisContribute to the Annual Sustainability ReportAbout YouA strong knowledge of environmental issues material to national business, with the technical skill and self-confidence to be recognised as a subject matter expertPractical experience and understanding of sustainability, wastewater systems and environmental management principles, ideally in the dairy or FMCG industrySelf-motivation to work autonomously as part of a national and interdisciplinary team environmentWorking knowledge of national, state and territories regulatory framework Relevant Tertiary qualifications in a science or engineering or proven experience in a similar role in the FMCG and/or dairy sectorAbility to travel regularly between metropolitan and regional sites, as well as interstate sites from time to timeIf you are interested in applying for this role we would love to hear from you.
