Job Summary:Delta Airlines is seeking a talented and motivated Engineering Leader to join our team. As an Engineering Leader you will play a crucial role to lead a team that manages and optimizes our data infrastructure. You will work closely with stakeholders to extract, transform, load, and visualize data from various sources, ensuring its accuracy and availability for analysis, reporting, and modeling. If you are passionate about data, technology, and aviation, this role is for you!Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Lead a reporting and analytics team capable of meeting or exceeding deadlines in a fast-paced environmentData Extraction and Transformation - Locate and extract data from diverse sources, including databases, APIs, and external systems. Transform raw data into structured formats suitable for analysis, modeling, and reporting.Dashboard and App Maintenance - Collaborate with key stakeholders to build new or improve existing dashboards and applications. Continuously improve user experience (UX) by incorporating feedback and standard practices.Technology Exploration - Investigate new technologies in partnership with our vendor network. Evaluate and recommend tools and frameworks for future implementation.Data Integrity and Monitoring - Monitor ongoing data collection processes to ensure accuracy and integrity. Implement data quality checks and address anomalies promptly.Delta Wellbeing Measurement Platform - Contribute to the development and improvement of data tools and resources. - Seek opportunities to enhance data availability and usability for Deltas wellbeing initiatives.What You Need to Succeed (Minimum Qualifications):12+ Years of Experience, leading Data Engineers and Analysts teams.Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Science, Business / Management, Mathematics / Statistics, or a relevant quantitative field.Programming Skills:At least 5 years of experience with Python or other programming / scripting languages.Functional understanding of basic and object-oriented programming concepts (loops, conditionals, variables, functions, multi-dimensional arrays).Data Experience:5+ years of experience in analysis, information science, data visualization, or a related quantitative field.Proficiency in SQL and an understanding of efficient query practices.Collaboration and Communication:Comfortable working both independently and in group settings.Excellent communication skills to interact with cross-functional teams.Cloud Technologies:Familiarity with cloud computing technologies, such as AWS, is a plus.
