Job Description The Company My client, a well recognised Port Management authority has an urgent need for a first class Chief Accountant to join their business. The Role Reporting to the CFO you'll lead supervisors and accountants as they relate to the service of the financial reporting and transactional accounting of the company. 1. Responsible for knowing critical functions within the department and capable of mentoring and assisting employees within the department. 2. Utilize teamwork to develop departmental synergy. 3. Monitors compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and company procedures and finance manuals. 4. Reviews, investigates, and corrects errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, documents, and reports. 5. Reviews accounts payables and weekly check runs. 6. Determines proper handling of financial transactions and approves transactions within designated limits. 7. Compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare entries to general ledger accounts, cost centers and documents business transactions. 8. Responsible for distributing financial statements and cost center reports. 9. Prepares work papers and supporting schedules for the annual financial review. 10. Staff management and development. 11. Distributes monthly comparison reports and cost center reports according to schedules. 12. Prepares financial statements and other reports to summarize and interpret current and projected company financial position. 13. Analyze transactional processes and identify areas where additional accuracies and efficiencies can be achieved. 14. Closely maintains and monitors the fixed assets system. 15. Adheres to internal and external deadlines. 16. Applies cost accounting methods to achieve accurate representation of cost center performance. 17. Responsible for holding manu

Any Job Skills The Person MUST BE A UAE NATIONAL Bachelor level education certification The ability to interpret applicable company policies and procedures, applying them consistently and without discrimination. At least six years of experience in finance or documentation in transportation or related industry. General understanding of medium level accounting principles and transactions. Requires proficiency in various software applications and programs, specifically EXCEL spreadsheets.
