Governance Manager

Seeking a Senior Governance Manager that will also provide a focus on Risk Management and Compliance. This is a PERMANENT position with a nonprofit organization. Ideally starting in May. Full time hours Monday to Friday. Must be available to work a hybrid model (2-3 days a week onsite). Location: Nepean (south).Duties:Maintain and develop corporate policies, procedures, and standardsMaintain corporate governance recordsLead board governance that also includes recruitment and continuous learningRecommend and guide up to date corporate governance, compliance practices and trendsEnsure the organization is in compliance with applicable laws and regulationsProvide guidance to managers on risk management, compliance requirements and internal control proceduresManage the internal audit functionPrepare reports: governance, integrity, risk assessments, compliance, and internal audit reportsLead ERM (Enterprise Risk Management) program and implement risk management processesLead and manage staff, assigning tasks, monitoring progress, and providing feedback.Plan and oversee human resources needs, including hiring and managing disciplinary actions.Ensure efficient operations, monitor performance, and drive improvementPrepare budgets, monitor expenditures, validate and approve expenses and ensure costs are controlledRequirements:At least 5+ years of experience in Governance within a medium or large corporation or nonprofitStrong understanding of policy development and framework establishmentMust have a University DegreeCriminal record checkValid "G" driver's license or equivalent and use of a vehicle for business purposes.
