Prairie Optometry in Saskatoon is looking to fill a temporary Optometrist position for an upcoming maternity leave.
The position would start July2024, the exact date in July is flexible. The position to be filled is a full time 4 days a week schedule of one of the doctor owners that has been practicing at the primary Idywyld location since2012. The current daysworked are Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays with 1-2 Saturdays a month and 1-2 Thursday evenings. Regular hours are 8:30-4:30pm with 1-2 Thursdays running from 10:30-6:30pm. There is flexibility in the schedule and a 5th day a week option available as well. The maternity contract would be for 1 year.
We have three non-dispensing practices located in Stonebridge, Lawson Heights, and Downtown IdylwyldDr. Saskatoon. The maternity coverage is mostly at theIdylwyld location with one day a week at the Stonebridge location, however this is flexible. Each location has free parking for staff and patients. The Idylwyld location is side by side with Factory Optical, a busy optical dispensary and the Stonebridge and Lawson Heights practices are located within Factory Optical dispensaries at each location. The Idylwyld Location has been serving patients since 1989, Stonebridge since 2015 and Lawson Heights since 2018.
Our incredible reception and optometric assistant staff prepare and pre-test our patients prior to being seen by the Optometrist to ensure an effective and efficient experience for our valued patients. We see a wide range of patients including seniors, adults, children, contact lenspatients and many more with complex medical needs.
You will be able to practice independently but still have our team of doctorsand staff to support you.
Prairie Optometry is equipped with OCT(Maestro and Zeiss), fundus photography, visual field (FDT, Oculus Easyfield), tonometry (NCT, Goldmann, Perkins and iCare), autorefractor, phoropter (Nidek RT-3100 digital and manual), lensometer (manual and automated). We utilize electronic record-keeping on the Visual Eyes platform.
Both new grads and experienced doctors are welcome to apply. We would like to offer a guaranteeddaily minimum with a percentage of exams fees whichever is greater and are happy to negotiate.
