Job SummaryReporting to the Vice President of Procurement Operations, the Senior Director of Supply Planning and RX Demand Planning plays a key role in overseeing all inventory and demand planning activities within the assigned portfolio of product categories, ensuring financial performance, continuous product availability, optimized service levels, all balanced with optimal inventory levels. Some of these functions include providing leadership and vision for supply-related issues, effectively managing inventory and replenishment activities, driving high forecast accuracy and supporting the procurement strategy. The incumbent will be responsible for managing and developing a group of senior managers and planners, playing a key role in achieving and exceeding team goals, including inventory, revenue growth, operational efficiency, and customer service levels. The Senior Director continuously seeks ways to engage their team by seeking and implementing innovative methods to support the procurement strategy, focusing on financial performance, operational and organizational efficiency, and overall excellence in supply planning.Section A - Specific ResponsibilitiesLead and manage a team of planners responsible for supply planning for RX/OTC/CPG products and demand planning for RX products.Develop and implement a comprehensive supply chain strategy aligned with business goals and objectives.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement demand-driven supply chain planning processes.Leverage advanced planning systems and technologies to enhance forecasting accuracy and improve overall supply chain visibility.Continuously assess and improve supply chain capabilities, including supplier performance, lead times, and order fulfillment.Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the supply planning team.Actively engage with external industry networks to gain exposure to new ideas and innovative approaches.Monitor and analyze supply chain performance metrics, such as inventory turnover, fill rates, obsolescence, and order fulfillment.Identify opportunities to streamline and optimize supply chain processes, including demand forecasting, inventory planning, and replenishment.Develop and execute risk management strategies to mitigate potential disruptions to the supply chain.Collaborate with suppliers and banners to ensure reliable and efficient supply chain operations.Leverage data analytics and business intelligence tools to gain insights into demand patterns, market trends, and customer behavior.Provide regular reports and presentations to senior leadership, highlighting supply chain performance, risks, and opportunities.Act as a subject matter expert on supply chain planning, providing guidance and support to internal stakeholders.Stay up-to-date with regulatory requirements and compliance in the pharmaceutical industry.Regularly assess and benchmark supply chain processes against industry standards and implement improvements as needed.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify root causes of supply chain issues and develop corrective actions.Section B - General ResponsibilitiesFoster a collaborative and inclusive work environment that encourages teamwork and knowledge sharing.Develop and mentor the supply and demand planning team, providing guidance and support for their professional development.Stay informed about advanced technologies and industry trends in supply chain management, and evaluate their potential application to improve processes and drive innovation.Stay informed about industry best practices and emerging trends in supply chain management.Set goals and ensure their attainment, and promote a performance-based culture, continuous improvement, and collaboration among managers, peers, and subordinates.Promote McKesson's corporate values.Section C - Job RequirementsWork ExperienceAt least 10-15 years of experience in planning, inventory management, and purchasing and replenishment;At least 6 years of leadership, planning, communication, organization and people engagement experience.Experience in retail, wholesale distribution, or life sciences is an asset.EducationBachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Engineering or equivalent.An MBA or MSc, or a CPIM designation, is a plus.Interpersonal and Personal Development SkillsExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with senior leadership and cross-functional teams.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.Business acumen and the ability to align supply chain strategies with business objectives.Proficiency in supply chain planning software and advanced Excel skills.Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and effectively manage multiple priorities.Proven track record of successfully leading teams and driving results in a complex supply chain environment.Demonstrated experience in implementing process improvements and leveraging advanced technologies.Strong understanding of industry best practices and emerging trends in supply chain management.Strong leadership abilities, including the ability to motivate and inspire teams to achieve goals.Technical SkillsThe incumbent of this position will provide daily support to internal and/or external clients outside Quebec and/or in the United States.
