With the largest fleet of specialty trailers in the world, the company is uniquely positioned to meet the growing demand for low and zero-emission fuel distribution.Summary:Certarus' modern SCADA platform allows us to remotely monitor, and safely deliver CNG, RNG, and Hydrogen to customers across North America. The Lead SCADA Engineer will apply their technical expertise in support of our Ignition SCADA system, which will continue to evolve and grow along with the company.Leading a small SCADA team, the successful candidate will be the critical link between the Certarus' Ignition SCADA system and our IT, engineering, logistics, finance, sales, and field operations groups. You may be asked to have several roles in various SCADA and Controls related projects such as Ignition system management / configuration, database management, reporting, networking, troubleshooting, and testing.Schedule:Normal working hours are expected for this role, with the possibility of after-hours on call support (remote). Little or no travel is expected.We support a hybrid work environment consisting of in-person collaboration at our Calgary or Houston offices (3 days per week) and flexible work from home.Duties & Responsibilities:Lead the development and evolution of the Ignition SCADA system to best address the company's needs as the business grows and enters new markets.Design and re-configure the system to enable new equipment innovation and meet customer requirements.Collaboration with internal departments, and external vendors (SCADA integration partner, network providers, and hardware suppliers).Provide technical support to all Ignition users within Certarus and external customers.Support the commissioning of new equipment.Help advance the automation and digitization of equipment portfolio (trailers, compression anddecompression) for improved reliability, data management and visibility, and remote operation.Work with IT group to integrate SCADA data into other business systems and dashboards.Identify opportunities for equipment / PLC enhancement work with Engineering group for continuous improvement.Work with stakeholders to develop SCADA processes to standardize or simplify day-to-day work and improve consistency.Requirements:3+ years' supporting and/or implementing the Ignition SCADA software platform.Experience working with PLCs, IIoT gateways and communications protocols (MQTT, MODBUS, Rockwell RS232/485).Experience leading SCADA projects and training / mentoring junior staff.Excellent verbal and written communication skills with an ability to connect with a variety of stakeholders.Aptitude for hands-on work combined with strong analytical skills.Ignition Core and/or Gold certification is an asset.Working knowledge of Microsoft Azure is an asset.Working knowledge of VPNs / firewalls an asset.Oil & gas industry experience an asset.
