Safety Project Coordinator

The Opportunity:Our client is a growing organisation serving customers across Canada with a range of water treatment solutions. As part of this expansion, we are supporting them in the hiring of a Safety Project Coordinator.This person will be responsible for planning, implementing and overseeing our clients employee safety at work programme. The adoption of COR certification is a major milestone to be achieved and this person will be fully supported in helping to achieve this, including the provision of education and training budget on top of our clients great work culture and compensation offering along with flexible / work from home arrangements.What you'll be doing:Planning and implementing OHS policies and programsAdvising and leading employees on various safety-related topicsPreparing educational seminars and webinars on a regular basisReviewing existing policies and proceduresAdhering to all the rules and regulationsWorking with HR to set up a new employee on-boarding process for safetyConducting risk assessmentEnforcing preventative measuresIdentifying process bottlenecks and offer timely solutionsChecking if all the employees are acting in adherence with rules and regulationsPreparing and presenting reports on accidents and violations and determine causesOversee workplace repair, installations and any other work that could harm employees' safetyHelping our client to gain COR certificationImplementing Site DocsWhat you'll need to be successful: Ideally 3 years of experience as a Safety Coordinator or similar roleKnowledge of legislations and proceduresKnowledge of potentially hazardous materials or practices3 years of experience in producing reportsExperience with writing policies and procedures for health and safetyFamiliarity with conducting data analysis and reporting statisticsProficiency in MS OfficeWorking knowledge of safety management information systemOutstanding organizational skillsTeam playerGood time-management skillsGreat interpersonal and communication skillsCertificate in occupational health and safetyWastewater/water experience a benefitSome experience of the construction industry Engineering Services,Civil Engineering
