Description Syarah is on a mission to change how people buy their cars in Saudi and the Middle East. We offer buyers an end-to-end digital car buying experience where they can buy their next car from the comfort of their living rooms. Under the hood, we build systems to manage sourcing of cars, inspection, photography, merchandising, reconditioning, financing, insurance, shipping and many more. The Commercial Director – Buying, will be responsible for leading and managing the buying and procurement functions, with a main focus on the automotive sector. This role plays a critical part in the company's supply chain and profitability, including vendor relationship management. Requirements Key Responsibilities Buying Strategy Develop and implement buying strategies tailored to the unique demands of the automotive industry to optimize procurement processes and reduce costs while maintaining quality standards. Supplier Management: Manage relationships with automotive suppliers, dealers and other related vendors, negotiate contracts, and seek opportunities for strategic partnerships within the automotive supply chain. Vendor Relationship Management: Establish and nurture strong, collaborative relationships with key vendors, fostering partnerships that contribute to the company's growth and success in the automotive sector. Inventory Control: Oversee inventory management specific to used and new cars, demand forecasting, and maintain optimal inventory levels for the automotive sector. Cost Optimization: Identify cost-saving opportunities relevant to automotive industry, monitor market trends, and make informed purchasing decisions. Team Leadership: Lead and develop a high-performing buying team with experience in the automotive industry, fostering collaboration and efficiency. Sourcing: Explore and evaluate new sourcing options , both domestically and internationally, taking into consideration automotive industry requirements. Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, ethical practices, and sustainability initiatives, particularly as they relate to the automotive sector. Budget Management: Develop and manage budgets for the buying department, tracking and reporting on financial performance, with a focus on automotive procurement. Continuous Improvement: Promote a culture of continuous improvement in buying processes, identifying areas for enhancement and efficiency gains within the automotive supply chain. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Business, or a related field (master's degree preferred). [7+] years of experience in senior procurement or buying roles with a strong preference for candidates with a background in the automotive industry. Proven track record in supplier negotiations, cost optimization, and strategic sourcing within the automotive sector. Strong knowledge of supply chain management, market dynamics, and industry-specific considerations in the automotive field. Exceptional leadership, communication, and team management skills. Ability to make data-driven decisions and work with inventory management systems. Proficiency in financial analysis and budget management. Additional Information: This role reports directly to the CCO and plays a pivotal role in shaping the company's cost-effective procurement strategies, particularly within the automotive segment.
