Investigator I/II

The Opportunity: The prospective Investigator will lead the efforts to optimize lipid nanoparticles (LNP) with propriety lipid from CSL Seqirus. The successful candidate will be expected to lead the new LNP process development and play a significant role in cross functional collaborations with biochemistry, molecular & cell biology and analytical development teams. You will provide scientific expertise for LNP formulation process and mentor junior scientists. The Role:

• Lead the design and execution of experiments to validate and optimize LNPs
• Design and execute Design of Experiment (DOE) principles in formulation screening activities
• Work on medium to high throughput formulation preparation
• Work with Automation, Chemistry, and other colleagues to validate and implement LNPs
• Collaborate with various pre-clinical groups to support advancement of LNP products
• May lead technical project team with cross functional members
• Support development/optimization of LNP characterization
• Author study protocols, development and characterization reports, as well as scientific manuscripts for external publication
• Present results and findings at internal and external meetings
• Provide guidance to junior team members, interns, and act as a resource for colleagues with less experience

Skills & Experience:

• Minimum of 1 years' relevant industry experience and /or equivalent experience in a relevant academic environment.
• PhD in engineering, biochemistry, chemistry, biology or related fields with pharmaceutical industry experience (1-7 years PhD)
• Familiar with the LNP process (LNP formation through mixing, Tangential Flow Filtration (TFF), and sterile filtration)
• Strong expertise in the design and development of lipid nanoparticles for oligonucleotide delivery
• Demonstrated expertise in formulation screening design
• Understanding of physical and chemical degradation mechanism for mRNA and LNPs
• Effective verbal & written communication skills in a cross functional environment
