Job Description

  • Building the multi-year Vertical strategy for Visa in Asia Pacific markets. Be responsible for leading the development of regional playbook that will define Visa’s engagement strategy in acceptance verticals. This includes understanding market dynamics, competitive landscape, and customer needs to inform the development of effective strategies.
  • Establish and grow Visa acceptance in new verticals/daily use consumer segments through strategic partnerships with key merchants, aggregators, and payfacs. This involves identifying potential partners, negotiating agreements, and managing ongoing relationships.
  • Building and implementing Go-to-market strategy for acceptance in new flows such as Business to business and Government segments.
  • Deliver AP Strategy & GTM plan for the key verticals. This involves working closely with other teams to align strategies, set goals, and measure performance.
  • Analyze market demand, evaluating potential opportunities, designing solutions, identifying prospective clients, pricing, and other commercial terms, as well as scoping the infrastructure to support a product launch (e.g., marketing and sales support materials, product training, go-to-market plans, sales enablement tools and other needed technical sales support)
  • Partner with geographic business teams on strategy development including identifying and prioritizing strategic gaps, evaluating proof of concepts/commercial/partner options and collaborating on prioritizing criteria and recommendations.
  • Serve as a thought leader. Ensure the merchant/acquirer perspective is represented both internally and externally, ensuring their needs are appropriately solved for.
This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

  • 8-10 years of experience in payment industry preferably in the scheme, acquirer, payment facilitator or merchant side.
  • Strong strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate complex technical and business issues and solutions to a variety of stakeholders.
  • Ability to think big and launch “industry leading” ideas. Experience combining products or business assets in non-traditional ways to create new opportunities.
  • Ability to understand the depths of the AP domestic payments trends, regulatory environment, technological and consumer behavioural shifts tying this back to impact to Visa
  • Knowledge and understanding of Visa’s merchant/acquirer strategy, products and services is a plus bonus.
  • Advanced degree is strongly preferred.
