Job Title : DRILLING & COMPLETION ENGINEER

Reference Code: OG-7004076 Company: QatarEnergy Department: Drilling and completions Primary purpose of job: To provide engineering, operations, regulatory and supply chain management input for all exploration and development well work. All work to be conducted in a safe, effective, legal, and environmentally responsible manner.

Ensure full understanding and compliance with Corporate, Directorate and Departmental QHSE policies and procedures.
Develops specific well plans in close collaboration with the Asset Development and Field Operations teams.
Provides all Drilling & Completions’s input during the planning and execution phase of the project. Identifies and evaluates offset wells. Conducts internal well design reviews and risk assessments for assigned wells. Develops well designs and drilling programmes. Documents all well design changes using the MoC process.
Provides technical support on daily drilling operations and is the primary contact for field engineering issues. Monitors daily morning report, and facilitates data. Error corrections and coding. Primary responsibility for well file population and management for assigned wells.
Provides full time engineering support to assigned drilling rig(s). Provides internal and external benchmarking and end of well reports. Coordinates and communicates end of well reviews.
Manage operational and QHSE performance of assigned contracts. Responsible for preparing tenders, analyzing vendor response, awarding contracts, and administering assigned contracts. Assists with timely procurement of material, equipment and personnel. Reviews and approves invoices for accuracy.
Provides relief for (Senior) Drilling & Completions Engineer, or Drilling Supervisor, as required, during their absence.
Support and train new Qatari engineers as required to achieve QatarEnergy objectives.
Conduct frequent visits to the rig sites to monitor and support critical drilling operations. Support the drilling supervisor in any way possible to achieve a successful operation.

Experience & Skills

Fluent in written and spoken English language.
Minimum 5 years Drilling Operations Engineering experience with an Operating Company (including 2 years of well site operations and 5 years with an IOC or NOC).
High level of competence (ie, expert user) Landmark EDT software specially STRESSCHECK, COMPASS & WELLPLAN applications and knowledge of WELLCAT.
In-depth knowledge of fundamental drilling engineering and theory including: casing design, drill string design, drilling fluids, trajectory design, drilling optimization & surveying.
Sound understanding of Well Control methods (including underlying theory) with the capacity to provide engineering support during critical well control events.
In-depth understanding and experience of tools and techniques to manage personal and process safety with the capability to provide engineering support during HSE incident investigations.
Track record of managing Drilling Engineering studies related to performance improvement and the trial of new technology.
Innovative with the ability to challenge conventional methods and capacity to drive through new initiatives.

Education BSc. in Petroleum Engineering (or related engineering discipline) plus relevant drilling industry courses. #J-18808-Ljbffr
