We are currently seeking an ambitious individual to join our Wealth and Personal Banking team in the role of Head of Marketing working together with colleagues to define, manage and achieve divisional business targets. Role Purpose: HSBC are accelerating plans to transform, building on agility, innovation and customer centricity as we become a bank fit for the future. This role is part of the Global Marketing function. The function focuses on understanding present and future customer needs, identification of market opportunities, development and execution of marketing strategies, and programmes. The ultimate goal is to drive improvements in HSBC brand equity and contribute to customer growth, revenue growth, increase customer value and satisfaction in order to meet agreed objectives and key results.

  • The primary accountability of this role is to develop effective and innovative marketing strategies, plans and programmes that deliver customer and business outcomes.
  • This includes developing, managing, and supporting the HSBC Brand and WPB marketing strategy across segments and products through impactful marketing programmes to support the local business growth strategies.
  • The role holder must have extensive Brand and Marketing experience with proven track record in driving commercial and conversions outcome.
  • The role holder is accountable to the Head of Customer & Marketing, WPB and charged with supporting the business team in achieving their vision and objectives through brand and marketing activity.
  • This role is part of the Wealth and Personal Banking (WPB) team and is focused on supporting the strategic and revenue growth priorities of WPB.
  • The role holder must support achievement of the HSBC vision, values, goals and culture in personal behaviour, actions and decision making.
Principal Responsibilities:
  • Manage the HSBC Brand and WPB marketing plan as well as providing overall support on the WPB marketing strategy and programmes.
  • Accountable for the liaison with the local market WPB business team, on allocation and agreement of the scope and marketing spend.
  • Work with local market WPB business team and seek their buy-in and support on the planned initiatives including allocated budget spends.
  • Develop and articulate a deep understanding of customer needs through external research and internal data for WPB.
  • Work closely with business and Marketing partners to develop integrated Marketing strategies
  • Ownership of clearly developed Business Briefs and Marketing Briefs.
  • Identify and work with key stakeholders to gain buy-in and ensure that strategies and solutions will be effectively delivered and measured by all areas of the business.
  • Identify and ensure implementation of the assigned marketing strategies and plans.
  • Manage agency partners across social, digital, creative and media.
  • Be a customer champion and adopt agile ways of working.
  • Lead on strategic areas assigned within the Marketing team, ensuring that the appropriate level of Marketing support is provided to these solution sets.
  • Act as a Brand, Marketing and market consultant for WPB.
  • Lead and leverage appropriate resources to deliver Marketing plans and activities.
  • Champion commerciality across marketing, including providing access to learning opportunities around key strategic initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the Hub specialist teams (Performance/Planning, Insight, Brand, Digital Acquisition and Events) to build strategic, client-centric solutions across the business.
  • Encourage and enable constructive cross-country and cross-business collaboration.
  • Demonstrate Customer Centricity by thinking and acting beyond product sales.
  • Adopt and champion the agile ways of working in marketing and participate in business value streams/ cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrate and champion a speak-up culture by challenging actions and behaviours that are not consistent with HSBC's policies and/or the best interests of the business and its customers.
