Job Summary

Keeps records of financial transactions for establishment by performing the following duties and supports the Chief Accountant

Key areas of responsibility

  • Maintains & Updates all financial transactions posted (including Receivables) in a timely manner
  • Assists the Chief Accountant in the preparation of Balance Sheet & Profit and Loss Report
  • Assists the Chief Accountant in maintaining & updating of any Bank Reconciliations from time to time
  • Uses the email, telephone or fax for all official accounts related correspondence within and without the company as and when required
  • Monthly Salary Preparation for all Employees
  • Preparing of Monthly aging report as per payment terms
  • Preparation & submission of statement of accounts for customers to management
  • Logging Journal Entries such as bank transactions, petty cash etc
  • Carrying out posting of all accounting transactions
  • Filing / Maintenance of all Accounting Records
  • Assist the Chief Accountant in Month-end and Year-end procedures
  • May assist in training lower-level workers from time to time
  • Other general accounting duties as assigned from time to time

  • Administration Staff
  • Café Supervisor
  • All levels of management

Job relationships

Sales Coordinate as required for Accounts related issues Operations Coordinate as required for Accounts related issues

Other functions & responsibilities

  • Detail Oriented and ability to meet constant deadlines
  • Self-motivated
  • Ability to work on a diverse number of projects & communicate effectively

Required

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or Commerce
  • 3 Years Experience in relevant field as an Accountant for a multinational
  • Must be proficient in Accounting Package such as Peachtree, Oracle etc
  • Good Communication ability in English Language and Working knowledge of Arabic Language
  • Must be computer literate in MS Word, MS Excel

Preferred

  • Masters Degree in Accounting, Finance or Commerce
  • Good command of written and oral English & Arabic
  • Ability to generate reports via Ms Excel
  • Advanced knowledge of Peachtree & Oracle

Required licenses / certificates

Certification in Peach-Tree Software, Prior ERP experience, Odoo

Skills

Qualifications
  • Minimum of a Bachelors/Master's Degree in Accounting / Commerce
  • A Minimum of 7 years experience as Chief Accountant / Financial Controller for a multinational FMCG / Food related group of companies
  • Advanced Knowledge of Ms Windows, Ms Office and Email
  • Prior Experience of ERP software including Odoo, FOCUS, Oracle
  • Ability to act as administrator (Intranet and Internet) on UNIX / Windows Platform
