Listed 16 days Ago Visionwest Community Trust Non-profit - Social Services About the Role: To lead the Canterbury Tenancy team (Tenancy Managers) to a standard of excellence in tenancy management, working to standardising processes across the locations, in line with expectations of the Wider Visionwest Housing Leadership team. Work with the tenancy team on KPIs and the achievement of these and coordinate the delivery of efficient property and tenancy services that meets the needs & aspirations of our tenants and eligible applicants, including taking on a property portfolio when required due to Tenancy Manager vacancies. To support NGM Community Housing in delivery of efficiencies and effectiveness while building a strong, nimble and cohesive culture. To manage a growing portfolio of properties and coordinate the delivery of efficient property and tenancy services that meets the needs & aspirations of our tenants and eligible applicants. To provide a range of advice regarding tenancy rights & obligations in accordance with the Residential Tenancy Act and transitional housing agreements in New Zealand. Some Key Responsibilities: 
  • Provide key leadership role that engenders excellence in the service and in shaping and delivering the strategy for Community Housing (e.g. Tenancy Management, Internal Service Level Agreements, supporting the team in bidding for new business). 
  • Ensure key roles have multiple trained staff that can flexi-fit across the Community Housing business. 
  • Service KPI are delivered to meet the funding requirements . Service budgets are managed efficiently.
  • Ensure all processes and systems are adhered to as per the tenancy manual, with a view to achieving standardization nationally. Provide assurance over the operational data in conjunction with the Community Housing Operational Manager (CHOM). Ensure funds are used as per funder’s requirements; and that the operational model maximizes value for Visionwest from income streams (e.g. workforce mix, workforce planning). Contribute to the development of business processes to have well documented policies and procedures in conjunction with National Community Housing Leadership..
  • Develop and support individuals and / or communities to identify and take collective action on social issues impacting them e.g. increase social cohesion, improve community safety, create better neighborhoods for children. • Community development initiatives for both community housing and supportive housing services. 
  • Ensure the Kaiarahi Tikanga Ōtautahi has direction so that their work is beneficial to Visionwest and supports housing whanau.
  • Working with the National General Manager on building and maintaining relationships for the community housing service, with the following key stakeholders:
  • Christchurch Community Housing Providers (CHP’s)
  • Funding and Government Agencies; MSD, MBIE, WINZ 
  • Linked community groups and other not-for-profit housing providers 
  • Suppliers/Contractors Solicitors, Real Estate Agents and Vendors 
  Qualifications & Experience:  
  • Experience in the not for profit sector 
  • Financial management and literacy
