Central Receiving & Shipping Point (CRSP) Supervisor

Overview **This position will be physically located in Kuwait in support of LOGCAP** Under supervision of the Central Receiving & Shipping Point (CRSP) Manager, the Central Receiving & Shipping Point (CRSP) Supervisor is responsible in the planning and supervision of the work of subordinate's staff by coordinating, assigning, monitoring, and evaluating work. Provide accountability for cargo received and shipped through the CRSP shipping and receiving section. Reconciles reports on a monthly, quarterly, and fiscal year. Act as a liaison with regards to the CRSP's internal and external customers. Ensure that safety standards, security procedures, and departmental rules are observed and maintained. • Planning and supervising the work of subordinate’s staff by coordinating, assigning, monitoring, and evaluating work.
• Provide accountability for cargo received and shipped through the CRSP shipping and receiving section.
• Reconciles reports on a monthly, quarterly, and fiscal year.
• Act as a liaison with regards to the CRSP's internal and external customers.
• Ensure that safety standards, security procedures, and departmental rules are observed and maintained.
• Supervises the following positions:
• Material Handling Equipment Operator - Lift, stack and unstuck articles or materials using diesel, electric, gas, or petrol powered trucks equipped with fork attachments.
• Shipping and Receiving Clerks - Keep records, prepare shipments, and accept deliveries of merchandise for customers.
• Carpenter - Overseeing and performing the duties of a Carpenter with regards to constructing shipping containers, reinforcing structures, and assisting the CRSP function with shipping, receiving, and issuing customer packages.
• Freight Movement Specialist - Organize the safe and efficient movement of goods on behalf of exporter and importer or another company or person.
• Performs other duties and assignments as required.

• Minimum Qualifications: Education/Certifications: One-year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.
  • A valid driver’s license and the ability to obtain a U. S. Government Motor Vehicle Operator’s License and host nation Driver’s License, is required.
  • Must be CAC eligible and/or able to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC)
  • Must have valid US Passport.
  • Must be US citizen.
  • H.S. Diploma + 5 years’ experience OR Associates’ Degree with 3 years’ experience.
• Experience :
  • Approximately three (3) to five (5) years in Transportation operations or Material Control cargo operations.
  • Knowledge of computers and related software including spreadsheets, word processing, and windows.
  • Be able to learn or operate a manual transmission is a plus.
• Skills :
  • Knowledge of computers and related software including spreadsheets, word processing, and windows.
  • Ability to establish and maintain and effective working relationship with external and internal customers, ability to keep records and prepare reports.
  • Must be a self starter, perform under no supervision.
  • Communicate clearly and concisely, orally and in writing to customers and workers.
  • Able to respond to public inquiries and complaints in a tactful and effective manner.
• Supervisory Skills
  • Experience as a supervisor or in a lead capacity with regard to shipping and receiving services military or civilian.
  • Ability to supervise employees effectively; work under pressure, strict timelines, and regulations.
• Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the planning and supervision of the work of subordinate's staff by coordinating, assigning, monitoring, and evaluating work.
• Working Conditions:
  • Must be capable of working in an extreme weather conditions with temperatures exceeding 120 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Indoor and/or outdoor environment with very adverse and harsh conditions (i.e., hot, dry, duty, desert environment with average temperatures of 30 degrees in the winter and 130 degrees in the summer months).
  • Includes some industrial production environment conditions as well.
• Physical Requirements:
  • Medium work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • Work may require heavy lifting, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting, and working with or in areas where a potential could exist for exposure to physical, chemical, or biological agents.
  • Employee use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required for some situations. PPE includes, but is not limited to, head, foot, torso, respiratory, vision, and hearing protective devices.
  • Must comply with all Fire and Safety Regulations and post policies.
