The IT Security Pre-Sales Consultant is responsible for providing technical expertise and support in the pre-sales process to promote and sell IT security solutions. This role involves collaborating with the sales team to understand customer requirements, developing tailored security solutions, conducting product demonstrations, and articulating the value proposition of the company's IT security offerings. The IT Security Pre-Sales Consultant serves as a trusted advisor to customers, helping them navigate complex security challenges and make informed decisions to protect their digital assets Responsibilities

  1. Collaborate with the sales team to identify and qualify prospective customers, understanding their specific IT security needs and challenges.
  2. Conduct in-depth discussions with customers to assess their security requirements, analyze their existing infrastructure, and determine the most suitable IT security solutions.
  3. Develop and deliver compelling presentations, product demonstrations, and technical proposals that effectively address customer needs and align with their business objectives.
  4. Create and present proof of concepts (POCs) or prototypes to showcase the capabilities and benefits of IT security solutions, ensuring they meet customer expectations.
  5. Collaborate with the product management and engineering teams to provide feedback on customer requirements, market trends, and competitive landscape, influencing the development of future product enhancements.
  6. Stay up to date with the latest trends, threats, and technologies in the IT security industry, continuously expanding knowledge and expertise.
  7. Participate in industry events, conferences, and seminars to promote the company's IT security solutions and establish thought leadership.
  8. Support the sales team in responding to Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and Requests for Information (RFIs) by providing technical expertise and contributing to the development of comprehensive and compelling proposals.
  9. Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, partners, and internal teams, fostering trust and credibility.
  10. Assist in the development of sales collateral, including white papers, solution briefs, and case studies, to support marketing and sales initiatives.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Proven experience in IT security, pre-sales, or a related technical role, preferably in a customer-facing capacity.
  • In-depth knowledge of IT security principles, technologies, and best practices, including network security, endpoint protection, data loss prevention, encryption, vulnerability management, and identity and access management.
  • Familiarity with industry regulations and compliance standards such as GDPR, HIPAA, PCI DSS, etc.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand customer requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Proficiency in conducting product demonstrations and delivering compelling presentations.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze and understand customer needs and propose effective solutions.
  • Self-motivated and proactive with the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, or vendor-specific certifications (e.g., Cisco CCNP Security, Palo Alto Networks PCNSE) are highly desirable.
