Financial Reporting and Budgeting Specialist Kuwait Our client, one of the fastest-growing retail company in the GCC, is hiring a Financial Reporting and Budgeting Specialist for their Kuwait corporate office. As a Financial Reporting and Budgeting Specialist, you will play a critical role in managing and supervising the organization's financial control and budgeting processes. Your responsibilities include validating, verifying, and consolidating annual operating budgets, updating long-term plans, and ensuring alignment with the organization's strategic objectives. You also assist in cost optimization initiatives, present monthly controlling reports, and maintain and develop the operating financial model of the company. Your role involves maintaining internal controls, managing budget change requests, and monitoring cash flow activities.
- Design effective budget models for departments and the entire company.
- Analyze financial information to ensure all operations are within budget.
- Present annual budgets to senior managers.
- Review and approve budget requests.
- Forecast future budget needs.
- Identify variances between actual and budgeted financial results and suggest improvements to increase profits.
- Update long-term plans to align with the organization's strategic objectives.
- Assist in continuous cost optimization initiatives.
- Maintain, develop, and update the operating financial model of the company, ensuring realistic assumptions.
- Ensure understanding and adherence to the model's productivity rates and constraints among controllers and stakeholders.
- Develop and document business processes to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
- Manage the maintenance of Cost Centers, Profit Centers structure, and other functionalities of the SAP Controlling Module.
- Manage the budget change request processes, including increases and transfers.
- Coordinate with departments to address major budget overruns or escalate issues to the CFO when necessary.
- Perform monitoring of cash flow activities and investigate variances to assist Finance in maintaining the cash position.
- Proven working experience as a Financial Controller in a multi-million turnover organization.
- 2+ years of overall combined accounting and finance experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting with GPA above 3.5
- CMA certification is preferred.
- Thorough knowledge of Management Accounting.
- Experience in the retail business preferred.
- Experience in ERP systems, with SAP being a requirement.
- Excellent skills and knowledge in MS Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong report writing, analytical, presentation, coaching, and communication skills.
- High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and attention to detail and result oriented.
