About the Position We are seeking Medical Imaging Technologists to join our team with varied training pathways available to broaden your technical expertise. In this role, you will develop the skills to interpret radiological requests and provide diagnostic images, following the ALARA principle, and ensuring the highest standard of patient care. You will learn from Radiologists within Medical Imaging and other health professionals, developing the knowledge required to conduct procedures, maintain equipment, and manage confidential patient records. Working with children is unique! You will gain broad exposure according to the age and size of our young patients - from newborns through to adolescents. You will also develop highly valued soft skills, such as communication, empathy, and the ability to adapt to meet the diverse needs of children, and minimise anxiety and pain they may experience, and advocate for patient needs, promoting understanding and confidence. Applicants should be fully qualified with a Tertiary Qualification in Medical Imaging and registration with the Medical Radiation Practice Board of Australia and licensing with the Radiological Council of WA by the start of employment.   • You will gain exposure to a broad array of modalities over time - our Department conducts CT scans, angiography including interventional and cardiac, MRI, and PACS/RIS.
  • Our team also provide imaging services to newborns including premature babies, at our satellite women’s and newborns campus at King Edward Memorial Hospital.
About the Team Based at Perth Children’s Hospital, Western Australia’s only acute tertiary paediatric centre, our dedicated Medical Imaging team provide a comprehensive range of diagnostic imaging and interventional radiology services to children aged 0-16 years, including inpatients, outpatients, and the Emergency Department. As a team, we provide a wide variety of imaging within the subspecialties of interventional radiology, neuroradiology, paediatric cardiac catheterisations and other medical imaging modalities such as general x-ray, CT, MRI, ultrasound, and fluoroscopy. Our focus is directed towards achieving the highest quality imaging studies with a compassionate, child-friendly focus. The department is equipped with highly specialised facilities and equipment designed to create a safe and comfortable environment for infants, children, and their families. Part of our dedication to excellence, is benchmarking our services via collaboration with other children's hospitals and actively participating in research initiatives. We provide support for research projects and contribute to the advancement of procedures through partnerships with universities and paediatric specialist foundations.
