BW Digital develops and operates digital infrastructures in the Asia-Pacific region. We provide customers with future-proof capacity and hosting solutions based on the highest level of performance, scalability, and sustainability. Our 15,000 km submarine cable – Hawaiki – connects Australia, New Zealand, American Samoa, Hawaii, and continental United States since July 2018. Our projects include:
- Hawaiki Nui, submarine cable connecting South-East Asia, Oceania, and North America and BW Digital Campus.
- BW Digital Campus at Nongsa Digital Park, including a next generation data centre of up to 80MW capacity and a full suite of Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) solutions combining connectivity, data storage, and computing power for the development of AI and ML applications.
- Other upcoming data centre and subsea cable projects in APAC and ANZ region.
- Manage all on-site construction activities from groundbreaking to completion, adhering to project schedules and budgets together with all external parties and in coordination with the data centre program director and data centre operational director (internal client) and external clients.
- Hire and lead a small internal project team to be based on site.
- Coordinate with consultants, vendors, contractors, authorities, and other construction and building specialists to finalize the design, plan, and successfully execute the projects.
- Ensure compliance with building, health, and safety regulations.
- Ensure that all technical aspects of the projects meet the infrastructure needs of AI-ready datacentres and of our clients, ensure quality of work, integrity, compliance with design and standards, and commissioning requirements.
- Lead and supervise the construction working with the team of external consultants and contractors.
- Participate in tendering and procurement.
- Resolve any emerging problems or discrepancies that may arise during construction swiftly and effectively and provide regular updates on project status to senior management and other stakeholders.
- Prepare and oversee our clients’ setup and migration.
- Ensure sustainability and industry best practices are considered in all project phases to minimize environmental impact.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in CSA, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Proven experience in mission-critical construction management or project management, specifically in data center construction or large-scale industrial projects.
- Strong understanding of construction, electrical, mechanical, and cooling systems necessary for data center operations.
- Excellent leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Experience in working in Indonesia and/or other South-East Asian countries. Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and work under tight deadlines.
- Project management certifications such as PMP (Project Management Professional) are beneficial.
- Knowledge of current industry standards and regulations affecting datacentres is preferred.
