Clemenger Group is on the hunt for a Senior HR Business Partner to join us on a 6-month fixed term contract. This role will support our agencies in Auckland & Wellington to design and embed initiatives that support creativity and enable our people to do their best work. As well as working with agency leaders on their unique people priorities, the role will be responsible for leading agency wide initiatives and projects in the areas of policy, governance and diversity, equality & inclusion. As the only People & Culture specialist in NZ, you will be comfortable working independently. You will however be part of the wider People & Culture team based in Australia; a team that prides itself on being inclusive and highly motivated to make a difference for our employees across our network of agencies.

Responsibilities

  • Be a true business partner to our agencies; utilise change management and human-centered design methodologies to engage, communicate, build capability and bring to life the desired culture, values and EVP.
  • Support leaders through change management and implementation.
  • Manage complex employee relations issues, engaging external counsel as appropriate.
  • Stay up to date with regulatory requirements and continuously review people practices to ensure they are progressive as well as compliant.
  • Work with agency leaders to implement appropriate leadership development initiatives to meet the specific requirements of each agency.
  • Lead and manage the employee engagement survey, working with leaders to interpret the results and design plans to continuously improve the employee experience.
  • Lead and manage the performance planning & review cycle and coach leaders to facilitate meaningful performance and development conversations with their people.
  • Continue to build health and safety leadership capability, and in conjunction with the Group Executive Assistant, oversee health and safety reporting, hazard identification and risk management.
  • Be well versed in the expectations of a multigenerational workforce and educate managers around the best ways to attract and retain the best talent in the market.
  • Lead diversity, equality & inclusion initiatives.
  • Use HR data and metrics to identify opportunities to improve employee engagement and experience, and address talent hot spots (experience using Culture Amp would be advantageous).
  • Facilitate the development of career pathways to address current and future business needs.
  • Be a trusted advisor and confidant to senior leadership, as well as being approachable and open to employees at all levels.

Knowledge/Experience

  • Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources or related field along with proven HR partnering experience.
  • At home among smart leaders and able to influence and shape their thinking.
  • Strategic HR partner with a hands-on and tactical approach to delivering day to day impact across the employee life cycle.
  • Experienced in driving diversity, equity & inclusion programs.
  • Excellent working knowledge of best practice leadership methodologies and practices.
  • Strong project management and change management capabilities.
  • You thrive in an environment where no two days are the same, and always go the extra mile to make a difference.
  • Warm, authentic style with an ability to connect with people from a diverse variety of backgrounds.
  • You're a strong communicator who can take people with you, not just by telling them the rules but also by helping them understand why they matter.
