Job Description
The Electrical Draftsman is responsible for preparing detailed technical drawings and specifications for electrical systems. This includes creating and maintaining accurate and up-to-date drawings and diagrams using Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software. The successful candidate will work closely with engineers, architects, and other professionals to ensure that all drawings comply with relevant codes and standards.Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed electrical drawings and schematics, including single-line diagrams, panel schedules, and wiring diagrams.
- Utilize CAD software to create accurate and professional drawings.
- Ensure drawings comply with relevant electrical codes, standards, and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with engineers, architects, and other stakeholders to gather information and incorporate design changes.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date drawing files and records.
- Assist in the preparation of technical reports and documentation.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements in electrical design and drafting.
Skills
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and other relevant CAD software.
- Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles and practices.
- Knowledge of relevant electrical codes and standards (e.g., NEC, IEC).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Experience with BIM (Building Information Modeling) software.
- Knowledge of specific industry standards (e.g., NFPA 70E).
