Job Description
Purpose: The Senior Corrosion & Integrity Engineer is responsible for coordinating the efficient and cost-effective implementation of corrosion management programs, ensuring the integrity of plant facilities, including all onshore structures, pipelines, stationary equipment, piping systems, etc. This role involves conducting special studies and analyses in specialized corrosion control fields, such as cathodic protection, water treatment, chemical inhibition, or materials selection. The engineer will provide specialized technical corrosion control services and consultation, create and/or enhance existing processes, and develop a consistent approach to equipment/pipework integrity. The candidate should have specific knowledge and experience in process operating systems corrosion risk assessment related to hydrocarbon processing, Gas Dehydration, Gas Sweetening, CUI, Deadleg corrosion management, Anomaly Management, Fitness-For-Purpose, Failure Analysis, Corrosion and Chemical Control Matrices, Corrosion Circuit assignment, etc.Responsibilities
- Maintains location minimum OFS STC as well as job-related STC.
- Ensures the basic MBO cycle (job description, quarterly performance review, SLP3, objectives, etc.) is implemented for everyone under supervision.
- Ensure safety and minimum HSE/SQ reporting.
- Ensure minimum PPE of the team.
- Lead by example.
- Implement corrosion management program and on-stream monitoring.
- Troubleshoot and provide technical support for running HC facilities.
- Conduct/support corrosion risk assessment based on API-580 methodology.
- Review and approve recommended solutions for coating failures and cathodic protection.
- Review design packages and validate materials selection based on current code and standards.
- Prepare and validate corrosion controls, corrosion loops, and corrosion damage mechanisms frequently.
- Assess feed composition changes and approve recommended solutions to assure asset integrity.
- Develop scope and description of technology items, and lead field implementation.
- Develop and transfer knowledge about the use of coating, CP, corrosion inhibitors, and other corrosion controls and best practices.
- Contribute to investigations into integrity incidents and other incidents as nominated.
- Assign conventional and advanced NDT techniques as part of Inspection Management optimization.
- Responsible for assigning NII techniques in lieu of intrusive inspection activities.
- Contribute to the further definition and enhancement of the corrosion management strategy to be applied in all SLB facilities in line with SLB vision.
- Provide facilities corrosion management and inspection technical support and expertise to all activities defined in the Integrity Management strategy for SLB facilities.
- Collaborate with and identify critical corrosion issues and areas of concern to ensure timely achievement of set goals and targets within SLB facilities.
- Ensure with operating facilities that timely replacement strategies and execution plans are in place to keep integrity risks as low as reasonably possible.
- Ensure the Safety Critical Elements are verified and captured as per SLB corporate.
- Provide support to conduct RBI as qualitative and quantitative approaches to support the integrity team within the areas of facilities integrity.
- Support training and development of Operations staff in corrosion risk assessment related subjects.
- Support all SLB Operating Facilities with specification, standardization, monitoring, and reporting related to corrosion, coating, cathodic protection, material upgrade, etc.
- Support assigned Operation Teams to identify improvement opportunities and translate them into resourced action plans.
- Report through the Integrity Management structure the performance, status, and issues related to assigned Operation areas of responsibility.
- Support SLB Operating Facilities with designing reporting structures and systems to keep Company Management fully appraised of performance, status, and issues within assigned Integrity Management areas of responsibility.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, preferably in Materials and Corrosion or Process engineering.
- Minimum of 15 years experience in processing in the Oil/Gas industry, material science, and metrology, different NDT technology and their applications, and knowledge in the engineering aspect of welding.
- Knowledge of international standards and codes NACE, ASME, API, and ASTM, especially inspection and corrosion standards such as ISO 15156, API-571, API-580, API-581, API-570, and API-510.
- Valid NACE Specialist Certification or NACE Senior Corrosion Technologist or API-571 and NACE CP level II (preferable) or a Corrosion Chartered Engineer.
- Deep knowledge and experience in implementing/using Risk Based Inspection software.
