Data Scientist

Job Purpose We are looking for a Junior Data Scientist to join our team. The purpose of the role is to assist in analyzing large datasets, building predictive models and providing insights to support business decisions in line with Muthoot Fincorp & Muthoot Pappachan Group's strategic objectives. The role incumbent is expected to collect, clean, and pre-process data from various sources in collaboration with key stakeholders and cross functional teams. Key Job Responsibilities

• Perform exploratory data analysis (EDA) to identify patterns, trends, and anomalies.
• Use techniques such as regression, classification, clustering, and natural language processing (NLP) as appropriate/guided.
• Optimise models for performance, scalability, and interpretability.
• Prepare detailed reports and presentations to summarize findings and recommendations.
• Monitor models periodically and refine models based on feedback and performance metrics.
• Align data projects with organizational goals ensuring integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of data used in building of models.
• Work closely with business, IT, and database teams to gather requirements and ensure alignment with business objectives.

• A minimum of 2 years’ experience in building/monitoring analytical models / scorecards.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python for data modelling, interpretation, and segmentation.
• Experience with SQL for data extraction and manipulation.
• Good knowledge of database and data massaging methodologies.
• Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
• Knowledge of scripting and automation tools (e.g., Bash, PowerShell) is beneficial.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work with complex datasets.
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

• Bachelor’s degree in data science, Mathematics, Statistics, Business Analytics, or a related field.
• Internship or Project experience with advanced analytics or machine learning techniques.
• Familiarity with Agile or other project management methodologies.
• Experience in Banking/NBFC/Fintech will be a plus.
• Willing to work in flexible working hours.
