Join our collaborative and innovative Network team at Northpower as the Distribution Engineering Manager. About the Role Based in our Whangarei office, as our Distribution Engineering Manager, you will:

  1. Lead and develop a high-performing engineering team, including mentoring graduate engineers
  2. Manage the maintenance engineering portfolio, ensuring optimal performance and reliability of distribution assets
  3. Oversee integration of distributed generation projects, including solar and wind farms like the Ruawai Solar Farm
  4. Drive the adoption and implementation of new technologies to meet future demands
  5. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, fostering strong relationships to deliver innovative and practical solutions
What We’re Looking For To excel in this role, you’ll need:
  1. A qualification in Electrical Engineering (Diploma or Bachelor’s degree)
  2. 10+ years of industry experience, particularly in distribution systems (negotiable for the right candidate)
  3. Hands-on experience or keen interest in integrating distributed generation onto networks
  4. Strong leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to manage and inspire a diverse team
  5. A collaborative and relationship-focused approach, working seamlessly across multiple stakeholders
