Finance Business Partner - Fluent English Speaker

Job Description

• Oversee direct and indirect tax, including corporation tax and VAT, for all companies within the group.
• Produce reports for the leadership team, providing oversight and analysis on the performance of the organization.
• Build cost models for new income streams, analyse costs, and assist in cost negotiations.
• Assist with automating reports and streamlining processes for greater efficiency.
• Conduct occasional audit checks to ensure compliance and accuracy.
• Support the Finance Director (FD) with payment runs and track company cashflow to ensure adequate liquidity.
• Assist the FD with ad hoc projects as required.
• Perform routine audit checks to ensure invoices are processed promptly and identify any discrepancies or missing credits.
• Serve as the first point of contact for junior staff on accounting-related queries and specific accounting treatments.
• Support HR with PAYE-related queries and issues.
• Manage relationships with legal advisors regarding equity raising, EIS, EMI share options, and related HMRC filings. Provide support to the FD on any finance-related queries raised across the organization.

Job Requirements

• A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in finance, accounting, or a related field.
• Proven track record in overseeing tax compliance and reporting (e.g., VAT, corporation tax).
• Experience in cost modelling, financial planning, or analysis.
• Familiarity with auditing processes and compliance checks.
• Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills.
• Knowledge of automation tools and data visualization tools is a plus.
• Ability to interpret financial data and provide insightful recommendations.
• Exceptional communication skills to liaise with leadership teams, junior staff, and external advisors.
• Fluency in English both written and spoken.
• Experience in managing legal and equity-related finance matters (e.g., EIS, EMI, equity raising).
