Stage 1B ties into Stage1A, NIMT Bridges, and completes a combined 6km of three laned SH1 in both directions, six new motorway bridges and multiple interfacing local roads, over motorway bridges, Shared User Paths (SUPs) and upgraded utilities. We are on the lookout for Project Engineers to lead the project teams with your energy, civil construction knowledge and capability to be hands on, providing coaching and mentoring to team members on various technical elements, ensuring that work is completed to deadline and a high quality. You will have proven experience in major Civil M&V construction projects and be familiar with NZS3916 and the Construction Contracts Act. You will be well versed in using these principals to get the job completed within the timeframe, budget and claim entitlements. You will have a strong history of successfully managing staff and subcontractors. As you will be accountable for the day to day running of the project site and progress of works, you will ensure the documentation required for project records and administration is completed accurately and within required time frames. Proven experience preparing correspondence/programming and cost estimates is advantageous. You will be involved in scheduling works, procuring contractor services, and providing technical expertise as needed. Good Work equals Good Benefits- Medical insurance for you and your whānau.

- The ability to contribute to the planning and development of construction methodology for elements of a Major Infrastructure Project.
- Proven experience managing budgets and programmes, providing monthly forecast cost to complete.
- Leadership experience with an Internal and Subcontractor workforce, with evidence of building teams both in the office and onsite.
- A track record delivering projects within a motorway or main arterial road corridor.
- Experience leading engineering staff including of mentoring / training staff.
- Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to coordinate with the project teams to ensure optimisation of resources and efficiency of delivery.
- Strong Financial acumen.
- Proven ability in subcontractor management.
- The ability to optimise the use of material, plant and labour.
- Proven experience reporting project progress and performance.
- A non-compromising attitude towards a safe and tidy site, assisting in the development of management systems and ensuring compliance within your team.
- A track record of leadership and delivery of high safety, environmental, and quality standards personally and within project teams.
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Civil Engineer and have a BE, NZCE or a Diploma in Civil Engineering.
