Trainee Care and Custody Officer

The Opportunity: We are currently seeking applications from candidates who are interested in a career in the corrections industry. We are looking to begin this course at the beginning of March. The role will be paying $32.40 per hour (Casual), with a pay increase after the 3-month period. This is an entry-level role, where you will gain the experience needed to work in this field in training. We will be offering Permanent Full-time, Part-time, and Casual positions. Benefits:

The Candidate: Successful candidates should have a flexible approach and the skills and ability to deal with people from a differing and diverse range of backgrounds. You'll need to be able to communicate effectively and manage conflict or challenging situations in a calm and assured manner. Our officers are non-judgemental and committed to treating everyone with dignity and respect. Your duties will include but are not limited to:

• Providing for the safety and security of Persons in Custody
• Transport Persons in Custody as required
• Care for Persons in Custody whilst admitted to Hospital
• Care for Persons in Custody whilst in Court Custody

You will need to have Australian working rights and have the ability to obtain and maintain a National Police Check, Working with Children Check and be prepared to undergo a pre-employment medical including a drug & alcohol test in order to be eligible for these positions.
