Rentokil Initial has an exciting opportunity for a Business Development Consultant to join our Central North Island Team. The position will be based out of our Hamilton or Tauranga office. Territory to cover is the wider Waikato and Bay of Plenty regions. We are looking for an experienced sales individual with outstanding communication skills, persistence, resilience and an extreme level of drive and motivation. We operate in all regions of New Zealand employing passionate people to manage, maintain and service our extensive customer network. In this role you will be responsible for:

  • Identifying, targeting and developing new business opportunities within your territory.
  • Providing customers with relevant information on new products, services, compliance and market/industry developments.
  • Implementing market driven and customer specific sales strategies.
  • Developing, strengthening and reinforcing strategic business relationships with key decision makers.
  • Surveying, specification and quoting direct to new customers.
  • Maintaining and improving knowledge of the company product range, competitor products and general market information to add value to customer interactions.
To be successful you must have:
  • Proven sales experience with a true hunter mentality. You are skilled at generating and evolving your own leads through a combination of cold calling, networking and market research.
  • A results focused attitude, with demonstrated success in achieving sales targets and managing new business relationships.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Good time management skills with the proven ability to work autonomously.
  • Strong business acumen, influencing and relationship building skills.
  • Intermediate computer skills and ability to learn new systems.
