Job Purpose

To conduct teaching and art scholarship in Printmaking, Photography, or Sculpture – Instruction is in English. The College of Fine Arts and Design seeks a qualified candidate (Full time or Visiting contract) to teach full time courses in Printmaking, Sculpture, and Photography studios beginning September 2025.

Responsibilities

  • Ability to teach basic and advanced drawing, photography, and sculpture studios, or History, Theory & Criticism with a focus on non-western narratives.
  • Strong research and publication or art scholarship.
  • Contribution to Fundamentals of Design and Drawing studios.
  • Academically advise undergraduate students.
  • Engage in Program/Department and College assignments, activities, and events.
  • Participate in relevant professional activities to improve teaching and subject matter competence.
  • Serve on faculty committees as appointed or elected.
  • Lead efforts toward community engagement and other activities as assigned by the Department Chair or College Dean.

Required Skills

Applicants holding a PhD/MFA degree with an established record of academic performance and scholarly activities. Preference is given to candidates demonstrating:
  • Effective teaching skills and professional experience.
  • Solid experience in teaching and learning media & technology.
  • Ability to teach art and design survey courses or printmaking studios.
  • Good record in research and/or artistic scholarly activities.
  • At least 5 years of full-time teaching experience in higher education institutions.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills (in English).
  • Strong interpersonal skills towards effective professor-student interactions, both one-on-one (student interaction) and in group (classroom) sessions.
  • Sincere interest in assisting each student within a diverse and multi-cultural community to maximize their academic, spiritual, and personal potential.
  • Team player that is motivated to strengthen and advance the department.
