Te whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity

This is a senior leadership role in which you will have primary responsibility for the performance of our infrastructure business line in New Zealand. The role will require you to lead the ongoing development and implementation of business strategy alongside broader Beca strategies and in collaboration with the New Zealand leadership team. You’ll oversee and lead as appropriate business operations, sales, marketing, CRM activities and interactions with key clients. This role will include leading a significant part of our business through internal change, including the roll out of new systems ensuring new ways of working are effectively embedded. Given our long history in the infrastructure market this role has significant mana externally and we’re seeking a General Manager who leverages this opportunity to connect across industry with counterparts, deal confidently with contractors and represent Beca across a wider range of topics at public events and conferences. Ultimately, success will require you to actively grow and develop a high performing team around you in a dynamic and changing environment, building an inclusive and enabling culture and growing a profitable business focused on long-term sustainable growth of the infrastructure markets.

Ko wai koe | About you

This role will require a broad range of leadership capability including people, commercial and market leadership. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a thorough knowledge of the infrastructure industry and be motivated to continue to build industry profile and credibility to represent Beca at industry events and conferences along with supporting both senior level client relationships and lead our group of industry professionals. You will also possess demonstrated leadership capability to lead large teams, including sound understanding of business management, financial systems, commercial contracts and have excellent interpersonal communication skills. Ideally, you will have previously held a senior leadership role providing you with knowledge of financial and people management approaches. We’re looking for a leader who operates as a role model in the business, leading by example with enthusiasm, curiosity and capability to develop and embed initiatives, lead change and provide strategic business direction.
