Job Title: Site Geotechnical Engineer Responsibilities:

  1. Assist the Head of Geotechnical Division in planning and executing soil investigation works, inspections, and consultation projects.
  2. Direct and carry out technical interpretation of soil and geotechnical data.
  3. Update and improve the accuracy and efficiency of testing and reporting systems, processes, and procedures related to the Geotechnical Division.
  4. Remain updated with the latest technical issues in geotechnics and geotechnical engineering.
  5. Oversee technical and logistical activities in geotechnical projects undertaken by the Geotechnical Division.
  6. Ensure a smooth and efficient day-to-day operation of the Geotechnical Division.
  7. Provide scientific judgment and interpretation of investigation and test results.
II- Reporting: To the Head of Geotechnical Division. III- Supervising:
  1. Geologists.
  2. Technicians and Labors working for the Geotechnical Division.
IV- Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Analyze data and soil samples through field and laboratory analysis to determine type, classification, characteristics, and stability of soil.
  2. Coordinate with Head of Geotechnical Division/senior geotechnical engineer for testing samples for the geotechnical Division and the schedule of such testing.
  3. Prepare project schedule and ensure that schedule is timely met.
  4. Sign and approve testing work orders for the laboratory on behalf of the Geotechnical Division.
  5. Coordinate with Drilling Department or External Drilling Subcontractors regarding cost, logistics, sequence, and schedule of drilling under the directives of the Head of Geotechnical Division.
  6. Determine if faults or fractures in soils would be detrimental to construction plans.
  7. Compute bearing weights and prepare maps, charts, and reports of test results.
  8. Make recommendations regarding foundation design, slope angles, grading, building heights, or any other geotechnical-related matter.
  9. Supervise, train, and evaluate assigned staff in the Geotechnical Division.
  10. Provide timely, accurate service in response to the Head of Geotechnical Division/senior GE requests.
  11. Meet with inspectors, engineers, contractors, and/or developers to determine corrective action required when there are discrepancies between work done and the approved plans, specifications, and standards.
  12. Other duties may be assigned.
VI- Qualification Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in engineering or relevant science - 3 years program from a college or university with a 4-year experience in geotechnical works, or Bachelor of Civil Engineering - 5 years program with a minimum 2-year experience. Skills:
  1. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  2. Average skills to write reports and business correspondences.
  3. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients.
