Main Scope: The Senior Cost Engineer is responsible for Leading the Costing & Pricing team to develop Product Price list which includes the pricing of Standard Units, Customized Units and Non-Catalogue optional features. The incumbent provides support to Sales, Showroom and After Sales departments in all matters related to Pricing. The incumbent will interact with the Sales to provide them proper guidance on the pricing & margins of Quotations during their final negotiations with the customer by reviewing project costs. The incumbent is also responsible to coordinate with Engineering and R&D, Production & Procurement for various Cost Reduction/Value Engineering initiatives/activities. Requirement:

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
3 to 5 years’ work experience in a similar role in an HVAC manufacturing company.
Expertise in MS Excel, data analysis, forecasting tools and techniques, ERP systems
Ability to communicate effectively with different levels.
Self-motivated and task oriented.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Leading the Costing & Pricing team to develop product Price list in accordance with the Product Catalogues.
Lead and direct pricing strategy formulation and take necessary pricing actions to enhance profitability, ensuring integrity and accuracy in all pricing matters in accordance with the interests of Management
Liaise with Sales/Marketing team to collect market feedback to position the products based on value and competitive situation
Lead the annual Price increase process for the organization. Work with Sales, Management and Product Managers to implement the Price changes into the market.
Support the annual budget process by providing the inputs on the Product Costing and Pricing structure
Manage total Pricing procedure, enhance processes to make most of efficiencies and ensure timely response to customers
Guide and support Sales during final negotiation of Projects with Customer by providing the best & final offers, Gross Profit at target price and highlighting the gap between the target price margin and Budget Margin of the year to support Sales Directors in decision making
Establish, Control & Monitor the discounts levels on Price lists for all Salesperson, Sales Territories & Dealers
Maintain Pricing history database of Products for preparing various analysis/reports
Monitor the Pricing of Sales Quotations and report discrepancies in Pricing practices with corrective/preventive actions
Approve the Sales Orders entered in system by checking the Pricing, ensuring that gross profit is in accordance with the budget margins
Manage and Supervise Cost Engineers/Analysts to support on activities like new price generation, price updates, preparing project pricing budgets, discrepancy resolution etc.
Review and Approval of New Product requests by making a feasibility study considering all techno-commercial aspects of the product in coordination with R&D and Sales
Review and Approval of standard Bill of Material & Routing of products and liaise with Engineering & Production to ensure Bill of Material and Routing are accurate and up to date
Direct the Costing and Pricing of Customized Equipment and Special options in coordination with Engineering & Production team
Assist Product Managers and R&D Team in Value Engineering & Value analysis and other Cost reduction initiatives
Monitor the Ageing and Movement of all Finished Goods in inventory and prepare stock liquidation policies and proposals
Analysis of finished goods proposed for scrapping by Sales team based on inventory year & latest regulations in order to have proper justification on proposed scrap action
Review and Approval of Sales forecast orders considering the previous sales history, orders in pipeline, current backlog, free stock in order to ensure that the Units produced/Materials ordered will be consumed within the stipulated time not impacting the inventory levels
Continuous Monitoring of price fluctuation in Raw material prices and its impact on product costing and to make necessary amendments
Continuous monitoring of Supplier prices and ensuring that the system is updated accordingly by Procurement team
Monitoring and ensuring that all the Product Price list is updated in accordance with changes in product design, raw material cost and operation cost
Lead the Cost Engineers/Analysts by orienting, training & developing personal growth opportunities
Ensure maximum utilization of Information Technology tools and services and develop/improve the Pricing System, which serves the smooth accomplishment of Departmental & organizational Objectives
Liaise with Internal Cost Control Team to prepare Policies, Procedures, Approval Matrices & Control/Monitoring Systems related to Business Operations
