Role Definition

AVENTA seeks an adept EHV/HVDC Accessories Design Engineer, dedicated to initiate the establishment of a new factory focused on accessories production.

Our undisclosed client holds a significant position in the MV/HV/EHV Cable manufacturing sector throughout the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, GCC, and the wider MENA region, celebrated for their innovative strategies and steadfast commitment to excellence. They take a proactive stance in advancing their industrial domain through the production of MV/HV/EHV Accessories, particularly focusing on Joints & Termination solutions.

Responsibilities

Designing Accessories: Develop designs for accessories such as joints and terminations required for EHV and HVDC systems. This involves conceptualizing, modeling, and detailing the components using CAD software.

Software Utilization: Apply specialized software tools for stress analysis, CAD modeling, and other design tasks. Ensure proficiency in relevant software packages to optimize design efficiency and accuracy.

Material Selection: Conduct thorough material selection processes to choose the most suitable materials for accessories based on factors like electrical properties, mechanical strength, durability, and environmental conditions.

Installation Instructions: Create comprehensive installation instructions for accessories to guide installation teams or end-users. Ensure clarity, accuracy, and adherence to safety standards in these instructions.

Installation Oversight: Provide support and guidance during the installation of joints and terminations, ensuring that installations are carried out correctly and in accordance with design specifications and safety protocols.

Collaboration: Collaborate closely with other engineering disciplines, project managers, installation teams, and stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of accessories into overall system designs. Communicate effectively to address design requirements and resolve any issues that arise during the design and implementation phases.

Testing and Evaluation: Conduct testing and evaluation of accessory designs to validate performance, reliability, and compliance with industry standards and project requirements.

Expected Results

High-Quality Designs: Deliver high-quality designs for EHV/HVDC accessories that meet or exceed industry standards, customer specifications, and project requirements.

Optimized Performance: Ensure that designed accessories demonstrate optimized performance in terms of electrical conductivity, insulation properties, thermal management, mechanical stability, and reliability.

Cost-Effective Solutions: Develop cost-effective solutions for EHV/HVDC accessories manufacturing, considering factors such as material costs, manufacturing processes, and lifecycle expenses.

Compliance and Standards Adherence: Ensure that designed accessories comply with relevant industry standards, codes, regulations, and safety requirements governing EHV/HVDC systems.

Qualification

Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.

Experience: Demonstrated proficiency as a design engineer specializing in EHV/HVDC accessories with several years of pertinent professional experience, ideally within the electrical power sector or a related industry.

Technical Skills:

Proficiency in CAD software for design and modeling.

Knowledge of specialized software used for stress analysis and simulation.

Understanding of electrical principles, including voltage, current, power, and insulation coordination.

Familiarity with materials commonly used in EHV/HVDC systems and their properties.

Experience with design standards and regulations relevant to high-voltage electrical systems.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for identifying design challenges and optimizing designs.

Effective communication skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams and preparing documentation.

Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy in design work.
