The Customer Support Engineer supports the smooth execution of purchase orders from customers. Acting as Emerson’s primary point of contact for customers, the role involves all post-order activities, including order management, documentation, invoicing, etc. Always striving to provide the highest standards of customer service while working with peers, Outside Sales, Service Engineers, Business Managers, etc. NOC, Dolphin Energy, QAFCO, QELNG, and QE are some of the key customers that you will handle on a daily basis. You will be based in Emerson, Qatar.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Review purchase orders and connect with customers for any amendments. Ensure that purchase orders are commercially and technically compliant before processing for order entry in accordance with relevant procedures.
  • Maintain a comprehensive register supervising the history of purchase orders (from issue of PO to delivery).
  • Acknowledge purchase orders in the customer portal or through emails.
  • Coordinate with sales and application teams and conduct Kick-off meetings (KOM) with customers as needed.
  • Facilitate smooth order execution by coordinating with factories, ensuring materials are shipped to customers on time.
  • Check with the factory on the order status and communicate to customers on a regular basis.
  • Connect with factory and engineering teams for queries regarding lead times and special requirements.
  • Attend customer meetings as required concerning purchase orders and post-order activities.
  • Prepare and submit customer documentation as per agreed VDRL/SDRL in line with the documentation cycle for assembly orders.
  • Align with local and international Emerson Trade Compliance and Quality Management procedures, as well as the Emerson Ethics policy, with respect to all business activities.
  • Fulfill any other reasonable duties as required, including support for Outside Sales, if necessary.

Who You Are:

  • Experience in directly handling and communicating with customers on a daily basis.
  • Knowledgeable in industrial standards for control valves design, manufacturing, and testing processes.
  • Skilled in customer documentation.

For This Role, You Will Need:

  • A proven track record in the process control industry, including control valve products and applications.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in engineering, business administration, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:

  • Experience in working with control valve products, applications, and manufacturing activities.
  • Experience in preparing and submitting customer documentation.
  • Excellent interpretation skills relating to engineering and manufacturing activities.
  • Ability to communicate optimally.
  • Able to interact positively with all customers, recognizing and adapting to the cultural differences that exist.
