About the Business Unit The Languages business encompasses all non-English or Indic Brands within the Times Internet portfolio, featuring a presence in eight regional languages across India, including Navbharat Times in Hindi, Maharashtra Times in Marathi, Vijay Karnataka in Kannada, Samayam in Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam, and I am Gujarat. Our Languages division stands as the fastest-growing regional content platform in India. We have an audience base of 180 million users, with approximately one in every four Indians engaging with Times Internet Languages Platforms. We are the leading news and information player in the Indic Languages category on Comscore. We have maintained this dominance for several years now. Diversity is at the heart of our community. About the Role News Editor is a pivotal member of the editorial team. This role demands a deep understanding of current affairs of the state, nation and international regions and the ability to create insightful and impactful content. The candidate will play a key role in producing and editing high-quality stories, anchoring video content, and collaborating with experts to provide an engaging news experience. Success in this role will depend on the ability to deliver comprehensive and timely coverage of news. Work Responsibilities - Collaborate with the team to define and implement innovative content strategies - Produce, edit, and curate high-quality content for multiple platforms, ensuring accuracy and relevance. - Anchor and produce video content, offering professional and engaging presentations for digital audiences. - Build and maintain a robust network of foreign affairs experts for insights, interviews, and collaboration. - Analyze global news trends and provide in-depth reporting and analysis. - Establish editorial standards and ensure adherence to journalistic ethics in all published content. - Work closely with the various teams to identify emerging trends and create comprehensive, timely news stories. - Troubleshoot challenges in content workflows and devise creative solutions. Skills, Experience & Expertise - Strong understanding of the State, National and International affairs - Proven expertise in video production and anchoring. - Excellent writing, editing, and verbal communication skills. - Ability to create and execute original story ideas. - Skilled in networking and collaborating with State and Central Governments - Ability to manage multiple tasks and work efficiently under tight deadlines. - Knowledge of multimedia journalism trends and digital platforms. Eligibility - A minimum of 15 years of experience in journalism with at least 2-3 years in a similar position - Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, International Relations, or a related discipline. - Specialized training or certification in video production or multimedia journalism is a plus. - Proficiency in digital storytelling and audience engagement techniques. - Demonstrated ability to maintain ethical journalism standards and editorial integrity.
