Job Description – Techno-Commercial Procurement (Solar) Position: Techno-Commercial Procurement Manager/Specialist Location: Chennai / Kolkata Industry: Solar Energy Experience: 8+ years in Procurement, Supply Chain, or Commercial roles within the Solar / Energy Industry Role Overview: The Techno-Commercial Procurement professional will be responsible for end-to-end procurement of solar components, ensuring cost-effective sourcing, vendor negotiations, and contract finalization while maintaining technical compliance and quality standards. Key Responsibilities: Procurement & Sourcing:
- Identify and evaluate suppliers for key solar components (PV modules, inverters, BOS, mounting structures, etc.).
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms to optimize cost and supply chain efficiency.
- Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with project timelines and budgets.
- Ensure procurement complies with quality standards, technical specifications, and industry regulations.
- Collaborate with engineering and project teams to understand technical requirements and specifications.
- Conduct cost-benefit analysis and risk assessment for procurement decisions.
- Evaluate supplier technical proposals and ensure alignment with project needs.
- Develop strong relationships with domestic and international suppliers.
- Manage vendor performance, ensuring timely deliveries and quality compliance.
- Draft, review, and finalize procurement contracts, ensuring risk mitigation.
- Coordinate with logistics teams for material movement and timely delivery.
- Monitor stock levels and ensure procurement aligns with project schedules.
- Ensure adherence to company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Optimize procurement costs without compromising quality and project timelines.
- Work with finance teams for budgeting, cost control, and payment terms negotiation.
- Bachelor's/Master’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Renewable Energy) or Supply Chain Management.
- Strong understanding of solar components, manufacturing processes, and industry standards.
- Experience in techno-commercial negotiations and contract management.
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in ERP systems, procurement tools, and data analysis.
