Floating Hotel Marine Engineer "Nile Cruise"

Job Description

• Perform maintenance and repairs for the floating hotel rooms and contents, laundry and kitchen/refrigeration equipment, lighting, heating, air conditioning (HVAC), ventilation, swimming pool, water treatment, fire fighting systems, generators, machinery and propulsion Systems.
• To undertake plumbing, painting, decorating, carpentry and minor electrical and mechanical engineering work as necessary to maintain safe and efficient systems within the hotel.
• Keeps systems maintained and operational by performing routine maintenance on HVAC, wiring and lighting, repairing or replacing broken or defective parts and fixtures, performing preventative maintenance services on all systems and equipment, and identifying and correcting defective or damaged systems assisting with any other maintenance needs at the hotel as needed.
• Ensure compliance with company policies H&S/Food Hygiene, fire safety.
• Maintains and organizes parts inventory by receiving and labeling ordered parts and fixtures logging and accounting for parts and fixtures received and used, analyzing logs to determine frequency of use and need for replacement.
• Maintains a safe work and storage area by cleaning and organizing designated storage area, storing tools and materials, repairing or replacing old or broken tools and equipment following established procedures, and following established safety standards while using tools and equipment.
• Prepare purchase requests and follow up.
• Following and carefully observing the work performance of the outside companies that have contracts with the company in the engineering aspect and reporting immediately to the engineering director about any deviations in their performance.
• Report emergency and unusual situations immediately.
• Report the need for any major repairs to Director of Engineering.
• Demonstrate an attitude of cooperation and helpfulness at all times.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Marine Engineering or Similar.
• A minimum of Seven years experience as a Marine Engineer or Similar - Floating Hotels Maintenance is Must.
• Have knowledge of Electrical, Plumbing, HVAC, Fire Fighting Systems, Generators, Machinery and Propulsion Systems.
• Relevant engineer license is preferred.
• Sound knowledge of maritime software such as HMI and PLC control systems.
• Familiarity with maritime HM&E systems and naval construction processes.
• Experience with a variety of engineering processes including mechanical, electrical, and software.
