Position Overview: We are looking for an experienced BSS Solution Architect to join our team and play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and optimizing Business Support Systems for our telecom operations. As a BSS Solution Architect, you will leverage your expertise in telecom systems to create end-to-end solutions that address business challenges, enhance operational efficiency, and improve customer experience. This role requires a deep understanding of BSS platforms, their integration with other systems, and their alignment with business objectives. Key Responsibilities:

  • BSS Solution Design & Architecture:
  • Design and develop comprehensive BSS solutions, including billing, customer management, order management, service provisioning, CRM, and revenue assurance systems.
  • Lead the design and architecture of end-to-end BSS solutions, ensuring alignment with business requirements, scalability, and performance objectives.
  • Develop high-level architecture and technical designs for complex BSS implementations and integrations, considering both current and future business needs.
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Requirements Gathering:
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, product managers, and technical teams to gather, analyze, and understand business requirements.
  • Translate business needs into technical solutions that leverage BSS platforms to streamline operations and improve customer engagement.
  • Lead workshops and presentations to explain design/solution and how they will meet business objectives.
  • Integration & Interoperability:
  • Architect and design the integration of BSS systems with OSS (Operational Support Systems), digital applications and platforms.
  • Ensure seamless interoperability between BSS platforms and network elements, ensuring data consistency and real-time communication across systems.
  • Address challenges related to system integration, data migration, and legacy system modernization.
  • Technology Evaluation & Recommendations:
  • Evaluate emerging BSS technologies, platforms, and tools, providing recommendations on the best-fit solutions for the business.
  • Document and driving Architecture Decisions
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices related to BSS, ensuring the organization is leveraging the most relevant and cutting-edge technologies.
  • Solution Delivery & Support:
  • Oversee the technical implementation of solutions, ensuring that all systems are deployed according to the architecture and design.
  • Work closely with project management teams to ensure that solutions are delivered on time, and meet quality standards.
  • Provide post-implementation support, identifying opportunities for optimization, upgrades, and improvements.
  • Performance & Scalability:
  • Ensure systems are designed to scale efficiently and meet the growing needs of the business, particularly as new services are introduced or the customer base expands.
  • Monitor system performance and proactively address potential bottlenecks or performance issues, ensuring high availability and reliability.
  • Documentation & Best Practices:
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including solution architectures, design documents, integration guides, data models and deployment plans.
  • Define and enforce best practices for design, development, and implementation, ensuring that all projects adhere to industry standards and organizational guidelines.
  • Team Collaboration & Leadership:
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including development, QA, operations, and security, to ensure smooth solution delivery and integration.
  • Provide technical mentorship to developers, and engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative team environment.
Key Requirements: Education:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Telecommunications, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Experience:
  • 7+ years of experience in the telecommunications industry, with at least 4 years in a Solution Architect or similar role focused on BSS.
  • Proven track record of successfully designing and implementing BSS solutions across various domains (Billing, CRM, Revenue Assurance, Order Management, etc.).
Technical Skills:
  • Expertise in BSS systems, including billing, customer care, order management, provisioning, and CRM.
  • Deep understanding of IT and telecom network architecture and integration (OSS/BSS integration, APIs, SOA, microservices).
  • Familiarity with telecom protocols (e.g., Diameter, SOAP, REST, XML) and cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Hands-on experience with database technologies, including SQL and NoSQL, and understanding of data modeling in BSS systems.
  • Knowledge of industry standards, frameworks, and regulatory requirements relevant to BSS (e.g., TM Forum frameworks etc.).
Soft Skills:
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively to address complex business and technical challenges.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong leadership skills and guide cross-functional teams.
Certifications (Optional but Preferred):
  • TM Forum certification
  • Cloud certifications (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • TOGAF (The Open Group Architecture Framework).
