Materials Controller JOB PURPOSE

To facilitate raw material purchases and allocation pipes to job orders.
Provide raw material availability for each offer issued by VSA, also issue FT RFQ to mills.
To maintain accurate data (SAP GR) W/ physical stock levels of raw, part-semi-finished & finish material.
Stock movements, stock-takes, and reconciliations.
Able to create analytical solutions, reporting ability and able to assume responsibility.

RESPONSIBILITIES

To provide raw material update for each RFQ received from client as per allocated routes.
Process raw material inquiries through fast track to respective manufacturer / rolling mills.
Raise raw material purchase orders to suppliers / rolling mills as per approved 9com / routes.
Ensure all raw material purchase orders validated by technical and quality department.
Conduct weekly meetings with raw material mills to follow up the orders / Acknowledgement.
Receive raw material in ERP SAP as soon as it is shipped from dispatch port (incoterms).
Materials follow up, and in / out inventory (transit/receiving). Update in the respective file.
SAP transactions VSA: Create purchase orders, plant orders, transfer material, GR, GI etc.
Ensure all SAP required transactions carryout as per requirements including material consumption before closing of month.
Develop and supervise SOP to control the Yield losses from the ordering stage till the materials delivery.
Lead and review the report of yield losses order by order and give the proper feedback to the entire stakeholder to reduce the losses.
Accurate data entry in the Business System from purchase of goods, through arrival in country of applicable material to consumption or delivery to customer.
Liaison with Saudi Mill to ensure correct stock turnover.
Accurate visibility of the stock held at to ensure that the company only order necessary raw material.
Raw material order calculations should be prepared for each order and save in respective sales order folder.
Monitor strategic stock quantities and replenish as per defined re-order levels, also provide updated file to SC stakeholders on a weekly basis.
Manage the inventory with help of yard team MES / SAP.
Verify SAP receipt (GR quantity) with yard team based on physical receipt of pipes.
Ensure Vallourec mills invoices / rolling mill dispatch record in line with SAP GR for proper reconciliation.
Participate in meetings related to material issues, working with both internal and external resources.
To issue all required report timely.
Carryout material controller related task as per department KPI’s.
Issue fast track RFQ to manufacturing suppliers against each FT from VME.
Purchase of raw material as per required specification / quantity.
Reporting and file management as per procedure.
Accuracy of transactions done in SAP.
Department audit related to material controller.
Material controller department procedure (SOP’s).
Ensuring that logistics principles comply with purchasing objectives and supporting conditions set by suppliers for procurement, packaging and logistics partners for transport and services.
Verifying that sales and production plan capacity requirements can be supported by suppliers and implementing corrective actions when necessary.
Understanding government requirements for material management, supervision of import and export process.
Analyze information about supplier performance based on delivery / quality record.
Monitor, develop, and improve raw material processes & material availability to attain inventory turns, and achieve on-time delivery goals.
Assess the impact of change orders – and plan/control the changes needed to minimize inventory obsolescence exposure/risk.
Establish and implement methods and best practices related to the systems and processes that support Purchasing, Planning, and Inventory Control/Accuracy disciplines.
Collaborate with Production, Engineering, Quality and Sales to achieve cost reduction goals.
Assist with special projects (i.e. new product development, customer ramp-up plans, and other similar projects).
Manage activities related to strategic or tactical purchasing, material requirements planning, inventory control, warehousing, or receiving.
Define performance metrics for measurement, comparison, or evaluation of supply chain factors, such as product cost or quality.
All material controller related documents must be saved on respective folders on share drive.

EDUCATION

Necessary: University graduate
Wished: Degree in the Engineering field

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

Necessary: 3-4 years’ experience in similar Job role. Working knowledge of SAP MM.
Wished: Experienced in the same manufacturing environment, knowledge of ERP/MRP
