Micoworks' mission, vision, and values paint a picture of a company dedicated to empowering brands, working with agility and open-mindedness, and prioritising customer Job Summary: The QA Technical Head at Micoworks will be responsible for overseeing the technical aspects of quality assurance across our product development lifecycle. This role requires expertise in both manual and automated testing, deep technical knowledge, and the ability to drive innovation within QA processes. The QA Technical Head will lead the technical QA team, ensuring that the product quality meets high standards and is scalable for future growth. Key Responsibilities:
  • Technical Leadership and Strategy :
  • Lead and guide the QA technical team, providing direction on technical aspects of test automation, performance testing, and tools selection.
  • Define and implement best practices for automated and manual testing across the organization.
  • Oversee the setup and execution of automated testing frameworks, working closely with developers to integrate QA within the CI/CD pipeline.
  • Automation Frameworks and Tools :
  • Design, implement, and maintain robust automated testing frameworks for various platforms, including web, mobile, and API testing.
  • Evaluate, recommend, and implement testing tools and technologies that align with business objectives and product requirements.
  • Ensure that test scripts are reusable, maintainable, and scalable for future releases.
  • Technical Problem Solving and Innovation :
  • Analyze complex product features and design test strategies to ensure full coverage and identify edge cases.
  • Work with development teams to identify and resolve critical technical issues early in the development process.
  • Drive innovation within the QA function, staying up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices.
  • Test Strategy and Planning :
  • Define technical test strategies for different types of testing, such as functional, regression, integration, performance, and security testing.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to create testing schedules and ensure they align with product development timelines.
  • Lead the creation of test plans that ensure optimal test coverage and quality control for both new features and legacy products.
  • Collaboration and Cross-functional Coordination :
  • Collaborate closely with development, product management, and operations teams to ensure product requirements are understood and testing is aligned with customer needs.
  • Serve as the technical expert on all aspects of QA, providing guidance to team members and other stakeholders.
  • Work with DevOps and Development teams to integrate automated tests within the CI/CD pipelines, ensuring continuous testing.
  • Mentorship and Team Development :
  • Provide mentorship and technical training to the QA team, focusing on skill development, technical problem-solving, and best practices.
  • Ensure the QA team has the tools, resources, and knowledge needed to perform their work effectively.
  • Promote a culture of continuous learning, encouraging team members to stay updated with the latest technologies and QA trends.
  • Quality Metrics and Reporting :
  • Define and track key quality metrics to assess the effectiveness of testing processes and provide insights to senior management.
  • Prepare technical QA reports, test execution results, and risk analysis for stakeholders.
  • Provide feedback to product teams based on test results and help prioritize product improvements.
Qualifications & Skills:
  • Education :
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field. Master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., ISTQB, Selenium, etc.) preferred.
  • Experience :
  • Minimum of 12+ years in software quality assurance, with at least 4 years in a technical leadership role.
  • Proven experience with test automation frameworks and tools such as Selenium, Appium, JUnit, TestNG, or similar.
  • Hands-on experience in setting up and maintaining CI/CD pipelines with testing integration.
  • Strong background in performance testing (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner) and security testing.
  • Technical Skills :
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or JavaScript for automation.
  • Deep understanding of software testing methodologies, including functional, regression, performance, and security testing.
  • Experience working with version control systems (Git, SVN) and bug tracking tools (JIRA, Bugzilla).
  • Familiarity with cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, etc.) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
  • Leadership & Soft Skills :
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and analytical thinking.
  • Excellent leadership and mentoring skills, with a proven ability to lead a technical team.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
  • Experience with API testing (e.g., Postman, REST Assured) and knowledge of microservices architecture.
  • Familiarity with AI or machine learning testing frameworks is a plus.
  • Knowledge of test data management, performance tuning, and debugging.
