We are seeking an Elevator Architect to join our R&D team and assist us in creating a standard global elevator product architecture, which includes the functional definition of modules and module interfaces. You will be a member of the Global Product Architecture Team, which comprises system architecture methodology experts who coordinate and drive the creation of deliverables for the Modular Product Architecture Project. You will collaborate closely with key stakeholders from R&D, PLM, PSM, MFG, and Field/Sales, as well as experts in all product areas, to standardize key module interfaces to minimize rework when module implementation changes. You will also participate in the Product Architecture Update Process, which establishes the methodology and standard work for updating the architecture and standard interfaces. This activity is a high priority for our company, as it will enable R&D efficiency and cost reduction for all elevator products. Key Responsibilities:

  1. Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) Testing Leadership: Develop and lead the strategy for hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing, including the design, setup, and maintenance of HIL environments. Ensure these environments accurately simulate real-world hardware conditions, enabling thorough validation of embedded software.
  2. Quality Leadership and Collaboration: Lead and mentor a team of QA engineers, promoting best practices in test automation and quality assurance for embedded devices. Cultivate technical growth within the team by sharing expertise in test automation. Promote a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability to achieve high-quality deliverables.
  3. Planning and Transparency: Track team progress and ensure alignment with project timelines and deliverables. Maintain clear visibility into development activities, identify risks early, and adjust plans as needed to meet committed deadlines. Report progress and challenges to stakeholders to ensure transparency and accountability.
  4. Collaboration and Team Work: Work closely with the Technical Leader, Product Owner, other Component Leaders and stakeholders to align test automation with broader project goals.
  5. Quality Assurance and TDD: Promote and implement test-driven development (TDD) practices, code reviews, and continuous integration to maintain high standards for code reliability and robustness.
  6. Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance development speed, quality, and efficiency. Champion Agile development practices, fostering transparency, accountability, and collaboration.
  7. Technical Documentation: Oversee the creation of comprehensive technical documentation, ensuring that project details, design choices, and troubleshooting steps are accessible and well-documented.
  8. Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies in the IoT and embedded systems space. Propose and implement improvements to existing processes and systems.
Qualifications:
  1. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  2. Experience: 7+ years’ experience in software testing; 5+ years’ experience in test automation and frameworks.
  3. Skills:
    1. Extensive hands-on experience with industry-standard test automation frameworks such as Cucumber and Robot Frameworks and tools such as Swagger, Postman, and Cypress.
    2. Strong proficiency in Python, with the ability to write complex test scripts, automate workflows, and develop custom tools for test automation.
    3. Proven experience in designing, implementing, and managing HIL testing environments.
    4. Practical experience with BDD using Gherkin and Behave.
    5. Experience integrating test automation into CI/CD pipelines using tools like Bamboo, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps.
    6. Knowledge of various types of testing, including functional, regression, performance, stress, security, integration, and system testing.
    7. Up-to-date with the latest test automation tools, trends, and best practices.
    8. Skilled in tools like Jira, preferably with the XRay plugin, Azure DevOps for managing and reporting testing activities.
  4. Soft Skills:
    1. Strong ability to interact and align with stakeholders and technical leaders.
    2. Proven ability to contribute to a collaborative team environment.
    3. Highly collaborative with excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
    4. Clear and effective communicator.
    5. Ability to work in a fast-paced, global environment.
  5. Language: Proficient English communication skills, both written and spoken.
Preferred Qualifications:
  1. Embedded devices testing on Linux operating system and Raspberry Pi environments.
  2. Basic C or C++ programming knowledge.
  3. Experience working in a global environment with cross-functional teams.
  4. Background in digital transformation, connectivity solutions, or IoT in the industrial or building automation sector.
