Reporting to: Head of Design UAE GCC Posted on: July 2023 Job Overview Under the guidance of the Head of Design, your primary responsibility is to conceptualize design and execute engaging and visually impactful exhibitions, trade shows, events, pop-ups, and interiors. Your role involves combining artistic and creative skills with a practical understanding of space planning and audience engagement. Main Responsibilities:
- Work closely with AM/BDM or event organizers to understand their goals, objectives, and target audience.
- Develop creative concepts and themes for exhibitions and events that align with the client's brand identity and messaging.
- Create visually appealing and innovative designs for exhibition stands, event layouts, signage, displays, and other visual elements. Utilize various design tools and software to develop 2D and 3D renderings, floor plans, and mockups.
- Determine the most effective utilization of space within an exhibition or event venue, ensuring optimal traffic flow, accessibility, and engagement. Consider factors like booth placement, product placement, seating arrangements, and interactive areas.
- Select appropriate materials, fabrics, lighting, and other decorative elements to enhance the aesthetics of the exhibition or event space, considering durability, cost-effectiveness, and sustainability.
- Incorporate interactive technologies, audiovisual equipment, digital displays, and immersive experiences into the exhibition or event design.
- Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in event technology.
- After design approval, manage the handover with the engineering office.
- Report daily to the HOD about the design progress and updates on other duties.
- Be proactive and respectful of all team members.
- Work closely with colleagues in the account management and business development teams.
- Attend client meetings and briefings when needed.
- Be aware of the production method and how to control the design project's budget.
- Ability to handle tight deadlines.
- Explore design and innovative solutions to share with the HOD and the team.
- Brainstorm and assist other design team members with new briefs and concepts whenever possible.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in exhibition, events, and interior design roles.
- A formal degree or diploma from a reputable art college.
- Highly proficient in SketchUp, Enscape, Lumion, or Twinmotion.
- Knowledgeable in AutoCAD, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Rhinoceros/Grasshopper (is a plus) and AI concept generative tools.
- Knowledge of layouts, graphic fundamentals, typography, and limitations of design work.
- The ability to storyboard or translate ideas into solid concepts and designs.
- Ability to handle design projects from concept to completion.
- Experience in teamwork and sharing new ideas with colleagues.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, and attention to detail.
- Stress Management: Being able to stay healthy, calm, and balanced in challenging situations.
- Presentation Skills: Effectively presenting your work results and ideas formally to internal clients.
