Job Description: BIM/CAD Technician (Roads) Dubai, UAE Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented BIM/CAD Technician to join our team! In this role you will get to perform various drafting assignments and support with design-related activities. What You'll Be Doing:
- Work closely with Roads Digital Design & Delivery Lead, Engineering Leads and Senior Drafter to ensure the project’s compliance with the given policies and processes, and to ensure timely implementation and completion.
- Develop engineering drawings consisting of basic arrangements, layouts, flow sheets, assemblies, isometrics, component details from rough sketches and/or from general engineering and design information according to established standards and procedures.
- Understand BIM modeling process and manage all BIM related activities from project start up to project completion.
- Review each drawing for readability, presentation and adherence to standards, in accordance to company QA/QC process.
- Create different types of parametric and non-parametric families.
- Strong knowledge in LOD requirements.
- Collaborate and communicate with other disciplines on coordination issues and model development tasks.
- Good knowledge of Autodesk Navisworks, with experience of clash detection and producing clash reports.
- Produce scheduling and quantity extraction from the model.
- Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
- Minimum 4+ years of MEA/UAE CAD drafting experience in roads, highways, road signs & marking, traffic study.
- Software experience required: AutoCAD and MicroStation are must.
- Autodesk Civil 3D, Openroads are preferable. Navisworks is desirable.
- Common Data Environment: ProjectWise & BIM360 or ACC.
- Good knowledge in BIM, understand LOD requirements and BIM processes.
- Ability to communicate clearly in English.
