Customs Compile / Classifier duties shall include but not necessarily be limited to:
- Preparing entries for Customs & DAFF Clearance
- Preparation of Customs entries, through classification, Evaluation and Compiling.
- Initiate and action client servicing
- Assist Brokers, where necessary, with TA applications
- Obtaining quotes for additional services that may be required to clear the boarder (eg: unpacks, fumigation etc)
- Attendance to queries or impediments raised by the Australian Customs Service and/or DAFF.
- Attending to client enquiries relating to tariff classification of goods, rates of duty, tariff concession orders, valuation and origin requirements of the Customs Act
- Keep up-to-date with current customs industry changes and trends (Broker update emails, Gazettes etc)
- Providing an exceptional standard of Customs Service to our customers.
- Providing excellent communication to customs brokers, department manager and the client
- Meet all Quality, Environmental and OH&S criteria and ensure adherence to all requirements and procedures as stipulated in the Geodis Wilson IMS Manual.
Skills and experience
Bachleor Degree or Higher, or at least 5 years industry experience
Proficient through training and/or experience in customs clearance methods and practices
Computer Literate (EDI/CargoWise required)
Import awareness and Compliance agreements
